On the afternoon of November 08, 2022, at the headquarters of 47 Hang Dau, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with the Vietnam Association of Architects to hold a press conference on the organization of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival in 2022. Mr. Do Dinh Hong, Member, Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, and Mr. Phan Dang Son, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Architects chaired the press conference.
The Hanoi Creative Design Festival in 2022 was directed by the People’s Committee of Hanoi City and the Vietnam Association of Architects; Department of Culture and Sports and Architectural Magazine (Vietnam Association of Architects) organized, in collaboration with the Center for Investment Promotion, Trade and Tourism of Hanoi City, People’s Committee of Hoan Kiem District and the accompanied by the UNESCO Representative Office in Hanoi, the United Nations Human Settlements Program UN-HABITAT and the Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association (Vietcraft).

The Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022 was an annual activity to implement the initiative and commitment with UNESCO when Hanoi joined the Creative Cities Network and was a successful continuation of the Innovation Week in 2021. This year’s festival focuses on the theme of Design & Technology, with the event scale and space expanded, aiming to create favorable conditions for Hanoians and domestic as well as international tourists to visit, experience and enjoy the festival atmosphere. The event contributes to connecting and expanding cooperation between organizations, experts, domestic and international businesses, raising awareness of businesses and the social community about the field of creative design and innovation. development of cultural industries.

After the opening ceremony of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022 held at 20:00 on 11/11/2022 at Ly Thai To Monument Garden, the festival was expected to have nearly 50 activities and events such as: Exhibitions and exhibitions, workshops, seminars, cultural and artistic activities with many creative, interactive, experiential and educational elements. Some exhibition and display activities within the framework of the Festival would continue to be open to the public until the end of November 2022 or longer.

The Hanoi Creative Design Festival in 2022 expaned in the scale of events as well as the space to organize activities. The events took place at different locations in the city, focusing on Hoan Kiem District: Ly Thai To Monument Flower Garden, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, Arts and Culture Center (No.2 Hang Buom) ̣, Hoan Kiem Lake Cultural Information Center (No. 2 Le Thai To), Exhibition House (No. 45 Trang Tien), Exhibition Information Center (No. 93 Dinh Tien Hoang), the entire surrounding pedestrian street space Hoan Kiem lake. On this occasion, many diverse activities would take place at other spaces such as Hanoi Museum, Center for Vietnamese Craft Village Essence (Bat Trang, Gia Lam District), Bac An Khanh urban area (Hoai Duc District), Trinh Cong Son pedestrian street (Tay Ho District), Son Tay ancient citadel walking street (Son Tay Town), Mo Art Space, some other cultural creative spaces in the city.
The festival attracted the participation of more than 50 organizers, creative groups, more than 50 artists participating in the exhibition… Especially, the architectural space of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022 was approved by the Board of Directors. The organization sent a message connecting tradition with modernity. Unique and iconic design works such as the Creative Gate, Integration Space, Traditional Space, were places for exhibitions, displays and performances, and as a place for people and visitors to interact and form a new perspective on the creative capital of Hanoi.
Towards and becoming a part of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022, the Organizing Committee launched creative design contests for young creators, to encourage young people’s participation in the creation of new idea for futuristic city space design. There were 04 contests organized and launched during the festival: Public Art Design Contest 2022; Dream House Contest; Quick Design Competition – Preserving and promoting Factory Heritage; Photo contest for teenagers “Hanoi from a perspective”.
The Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022 continued to affirm Hanoi creative resources by connecting artists, creative designers, experts in many different fields such as architecture, beauty Art, music, theater, technology and so on. In order to promote Hanoi cultural resources, strongly promote the development of the community and creative talents, create a highlight for Hanoi at the national level and area. Through the event, the city of Hanoi called on all the people of the capital to join hands to build the capital Hanoi – from a City for Peace to a UNESCO Creative City, with the central task of considering creativity as the center of sustainable development, making Hanoi become the Creative Capital of Southeast Asia, a destination of knowledge and creativity in the world.
