Thanh Tri District Improves Skills and Expertise in Fire Prevention and Fighting at Historical and Cultural Relics

Under the enthusiastic instruction of officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Team – District Public Security, the trainees all were able to use fire-fighting tools to control the fire promptly.

In order to improve knowledge, skills, and experience in handling fire and explosion situations, Thanh Tri District People’s Committee organized a professional training course on fire prevention and fighting and rescue for historical and cultural relics in the district. The training course was attended by leaders of departments, divisions, and socio-political organizations of the district, the leaders of the People’s Committees – Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees, the Heads of Public Security, Cultural Civil Servants, Secretaries of the Party Cells, Heads of Villages, Heads of Residential Groups, Heads of Front Working Committees, and abbots of pagodas in 16 communes and towns.

In the training course, Major Nguyen Van Quang, the Deputy Leader of Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Team – Thanh Tri District Public Security reported some major fires that have occurred throughout the country, in Hanoi city and in Thanh Tri district, especially some special fires related to worship facilities, legal regulations on fire prevention and fighting, solutions for electrical and gas fire prevention and fighting, escape skills, responsibilities and solutions for ensuring fire prevention and fighting at worship facilities and relics, as well as necessary steps to be implemented when a fire occurs.

After studying theory, trainees have practiced extinguishing fire based on fire simulation plan, using on-site firefighting equipment such as powder extinguishers, CO2 gas cylinders, etc. Under the enthusiastic instruction of officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Team – District Public Security, the trainees all were able to use fire-fighting tools to control the fire promptly.

In Thanh Tri district, there are currently 154 historical and cultural relics, of which 23 relics are ranked at the city level and 65 relics are ranked at the national level. These relics generally have ancient architecture with many wooden structures and flammable materials such as votive paper offerings, incense, candles, fabrics, and the like, posing many potential safety risks in terms of fire prevention and fighting.

Before, during, and after the 2024 Lunar New Year, Thanh Tri District Public Security has developed plans and coordinated in establishing inspection teams to inspect electrical systems, arrangement of assets, goods, vehicles, and emergency escape, use of fire and heat sources at places where incense and votive offerings are burned, and condition and operation of on-site fire prevention and fighting equipment, as well as responsibilities of facility heads and relic management boards in implementing fire prevention and fighting work. In addition, propaganda and training courses on fire prevention and fighting and rescue have also been held for people working in relics so that they can promptly handle any incident occurring.
