The communes and towns in Thanh Tri District have raised VND 672,320 million for the National Fund For Vietnamese Children, offerred 36,872 gift packages worth VND 504.7 million, awarded scholarships to 116 children totaling VND 180 million, and provided monthly allowances for 25 children with disabilities, orphans, and those without guardians.
Recently, Thanh Tri District has continued to excel in the care, education, and protection of children. In the summer of 2024, the Thanh Tri District Summer Steering Committee, together with local authorities, mass organizations, and officials responsible for youth affairs in 16 communes and towns, implemented numerous practical and meaningful activities with encouraging results.
Media Campaigns on Preventing Violence and Child Abuse in the Online Environment for Students
In the district, 116 sites launched the “Action Month for Children,” coinciding with the summer opening and the celebration of International Children’s Day (June 1) for 44,338 children. The communes and towns in Thanh Tri District have raised VND 672,320 million for the National Fund For Vietnamese Children, offerred 36,872 gift packages worth VND 504.7 million, awarded scholarships to 116 children totaling VND 180 million, and provided monthly allowances for 25 children with disabilities, orphans, and those without guardians.
Additionally, the district organized environmental water safety skills classes for 6,570 children during the Action Month for Children. Workshops and training sessions on preventing accidents, combating human trafficking, and addressing online violence and child abuse were conducted for 2,300 staff, parents, and students. Over 99.9% of children received vaccinations and micro-nutrient supplements, and multi-functional sports equipment was installed in many cultural houses.

In the field of culture and arts, the district held professional training courses for local instructors on group singing and dancing skills, and organized many cultural and artistic activities, including the district-level finals of the 2024 “Reading Ambassador” competition.
Currently, Thanh Tri District is providing monthly allowances for 399 children with severe and extremely severe disabilities, with a total monthly payout of more than VND 423 million.
At the 2024 summer activities summary conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Vice Chairman of Thanh Tri District People’s Committee, acknowledged and praised the enthusiasm and responsibility of the members of the Summer Steering Committee and the team in charge of the summer activities. He urged the People’s Committees of communes and towns and relevant departments to continue reviewing children in difficult circumstances to ensure they receive appropriate support and encouragement before the new school year starts, ensuring that no child is left behind due to financial hardship. Special attention should also be given to children with special circumstances and those in difficult situations, ensuring that 100% of children in need receive gifts during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
