The Fourth Hanoi Ca tru Festival – 2025 aims to continue discovering and nurturing young Ca tru talents, and to step up communication and promotion of this heritage genre to the broad public.
Pursuant to Plan No. 55/KH-UBND dated 18 February 2022 of the Hanoi City People’s Committee on the conservation and promotion of the value of intangible cultural heritage of Hanoi City through 2025; Plan No. 325/KH-SVHTT dated 11 June 2025 on the conservation and promotion of the value of Hanoi Ca tru intangible cultural heritage in 2025; on 25 July 2025, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports promulgated the Plan for Organizing the Fourth Hanoi Ca tru Festival – 2025.
Accordingly, the name of the Festival is: The Fourth Hanoi Ca tru Festival – 2025.

Participants in the Festival are contestants from Ca tru clubs within the City, or independent practitioners, with no age limit (illustrative image).
Participants in the Festival are contestants from Ca tru clubs within the City, or independent practitioners, with no age limit, who are able to play instruments, sing, keep rhythm with phach, perform cam chau, or perform basic and classical forms as required by the Organizing Committee. There is no limit on the number of contestants registered by each club, organization, or individual participating in the Festival.
Registration deadline: before 30 August 2025.

The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports requires thorough preparation in terms of content and organizational format, ensuring artistic elements and a strong representation of the cultural identity of the Capital. Specifically, the contents, participants, timeline, and implementation resources must be clearly defined to ensure the effectiveness of the Plan for the Fourth Hanoi Ca tru Festival – 2025 and the Plan for the conservation and promotion of the value of Hanoi Ca tru intangible cultural heritage in 2025. It is necessary to mobilize the participation of the community, individuals, artisans, clubs, agencies, and units to actively and voluntarily engage in the conservation and promotion of the value of Ca tru intangible cultural heritage.
The Fourth Hanoi Ca tru Festival – 2025 aims to continue discovering and nurturing young Ca tru talents, and to enhance communication and promotion to the broad public about this heritage genre. Thereby, it helps to partially quantify the fundamental results of the Ca tru revival, provide effective orientation for the conservation and promotion of the value of Ca tru intangible cultural heritage in Hanoi City, and continue contributing to the removal of Ca tru from the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding and its inscription on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity; and to create conditions for young talents and clubs to exchange, learn, strengthen professional capacity, and enhance the effectiveness of heritage conservation and practice activities.
