The Thanh Xuan District’s 4th Youth Football Championship, held in response to the nationwide campaign “Whole Population Exercises to Cultivate the Physique following Great Uncle Ho,” has concluded with resounding success. The Championship aimed to provide a wholesome and beneficial playing field for students, fostering honesty, discipline, and a sense of unity among them.
Commencing on October 24, 2023, and concluding on the evening of November 6, 2023, the Championship drew active participation from 31 teams, comprising over 320 athletes from primary and secondary schools across the district.
As per the organizing committee’s regulations, each block was divided into four groups, engaging in a round-robin format to determine the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.
In the primary school category, the championship title was claimed by the football team from Kim Giang Primary School, with Thanh Xuan Nam Primary School securing second place. The Stylish Play Award was bestowed upon Nguyen Trai Primary School.
Additional awards included the Most Outstanding Player (awarded to player Luong Nguyen from Phan Dinh Giot Primary School), Top Scorer (presented to player Nguyen Quang Minh from Kim Giang Primary School), and Best Goalkeeper (awarded to goalkeeper Nguyen Hung Anh from Nguyen Tuan Primary School).
In the secondary school category, the first-place trophy went to the Viet-An Secondary School team, with Nguyen Trai Secondary School securing second place. The Stylish Play Award was presented to Kim Giang Secondary School.
The Best Player award was granted to player Duong Gia Huy (Nguyen Lan Secondary School), the Top Scorer award went to player Phan Nguyen Minh Quan (Viet-An Secondary School), and the Best Goalkeeper award was earned by goalkeeper Duong Gia Hung (Thanh Xuan Nam Secondary School).
The Thanh Xuan District’s Youth Football Championship, now in its fourth edition, has witnessed significant growth in both the number of participating teams and players. Starting with 14 teams in its inaugural year in 2018, the Championship featured a total of 31 teams in 2023, showcasing the increasing appeal and success of the competition.
The Championship has played a crucial role in the development of football within the Thanh Xuan district.
