The Van Chi Relic and Cau Ca Temple (Vinh Loc Village, Phung Xa Commune) were established early on, enduring over time and continuously playing a vital role in the cultural and spiritual life of the local community.
The Van Chi Relic dates back to the Le Trung Hung period and is dedicated to Confucius, the founder of Confucianism, whose philosophy honors the value of learning and knowledge, in line with the Vietnamese tradition of valuing education and respecting teachers.
Leaders of Thach That District People’s Committee awarded the Certificate of Ranking of Van Chi Historical and Cultural Relic & Cau Ca Temple to Phung Xa Commune.
The Cau Ca Temple is built in the architectural style of the Nguyen Dynasty and is dedicated to the village’s tutelary gods. It contributes to educating the youth about patriotism and building a strong local identity. Both sites have been renovated and preserved multiple times. The management and religious rituals at these sites are carried out in accordance with local traditions, meeting the public’s spiritual and cultural needs.
With their preserved values, the Van Chi Relic and Cau Ca Temple were officially ranked as heritage sites by the Hanoi People’s Committee under Decision No. 3254, dated June 24, 2024. To effectively manage, protect, and promote the values of these sites, the relevant authorities of Thach That District, Phung Xa Commune, the Vinh Loc Village Relic Management Board, and the local people will actively promote and implement management practices in accordance with legal regulations. They will also develop plans to preserve the artifacts and religious items remaining at the sites, use resources from the relics efficiently, and ensure that any new religious items or artifacts adhere to local customs and cultural traditions. Religious festivals and rituals at the sites will be conducted in strict accordance with established regulation.
Ceremony of Receiving the Heritage Site Certificate
On November 20, 2024, Phung Xa Commune solemnly organized a ceremony to receive the certificate for the Van Chi Relic and Cau Ca Temple as official cultural and historical heritage sites. Following the ceremony, officials and residents of Phung Xa Commune performed the traditional procession to bring the heritage certificate from the commune’s People’s Committee headquarters to the relic sites./.
