With a series of plentiful activities organized under differrent themes every week, this is the first time the Centre of Scientific and Cultural Activities of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam has created a playground throughout 3 month summer time with the aim of introducing the heritage education programme to pupils and youths of Ha Noi Capital.

There will be activities continuously taking place as of the 1st June till 20th August, including: Paintings summer camp; traditional paper making; decoration and drawings on paper; kite making and exhibiting; Stroking, shaping and drawing on ceramics; making of cloth picture and stuffed animals; making of bamboo dragon fly; artistic conical hat drawing; praticing of nice handwriting and learning to write Chinese characters,..

Especially, during weekend, there will activities for family connectivity such as contests for preparing food, traditional nosh attached with the game shows titled “If you want food, you must come to the kitchen with the well-known figures”, “Housework, cooking, needlework for man”. Particularly, within the summer activities, it is the first time the Character Flower Festival has been held at Van lake on every Friday. There children will enjoy releasing Character Flowers in the form of canddle lit lanterns sticked with characters written the players to express their dreams in it. This is one of the activities for Thai Hoc fund raising that will be used to support poor but studious children.

At the opning ceremony, Mr. Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Centre affirmed this is the first time these cultural and educational heritage activities named “Kid candidates – flying high with dreams” are held at Van lake with a desire to bringing a new playground for children in Ha Noi and by doing that will help link together education to the heritage values being preserved at Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam. Through the visual and interactive experiences lively and attractive to children, it will help sow the seeds for study and creation, bringing them with the interesting summer time.

Little girl Vu Le Minh Chau aged 8 is excited when participating in activities at Vawn Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam and wishes to be often brought here.
Mr. Kieu went on: Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam is the specially recognized national relic, whereby becoming an attraction for visitors both within and without. However, we would like to make Van lake as the cultural and educational heritage venue wholesome and safe for Ha Noi children to come here very often.
