This year’s Cultural Week is themed “Ha Dong Silk Village – Convergence of Elegance.” The event is organized to further promote the traditional silk weaving craft of Van Phuc and introduce visitors to the diverse local industries, contributing to raising the position, image, and people of Van Phuc, Ha Dong.

The Cultural Week consists of three main parts: the Ceremony, the Festival, and the Trade and Craft Village Promotion Activities.
The Ceremony features a procession to honor the craft ancestors with the theme “Van Phuc Connecting Heritage and Historical Sites.” The procession commemorates the great contributions of Thanh Hoang A La De Nong, the person who established the hometown and taught the people of Van Phuc the art of silk weaving. The procession mobilized thousands of local people to participate, with three main sections: the revolutionary tradition section, the spiritual section, and the craft section.
The Festival includes cultural and artistic activities, as well as folk games, taking place at various locations throughout the commune.
The Trade and Craft Village Promotion part focuses on the ongoing “Van Phuc – Craft Street” initiative to advertise the diverse and rich Van Phuc silk products. It also introduces unique and new business models that attract tourists, such as flower markets, bonsai markets, antiques, and traditional food…

Van Phuc Traditional Village Tourism and Trade Cultural Week 2024 introduces several new activities, such as a youth talent search competition on traditional village tourism in Ha Dong District; a tour guide competition; and a silk pattern design competition.
Notably, to connect and promote local tourist attractions and historical sites, the organizers are piloting a free electric vehicle service to help visitors explore cultural and historical sites, including the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House, the historical site area of temples, pagodas, shrines, and the ancestral craft temple, as well as other activities related to the Cultural Week./.
