Vien Noi commune is located in the northwest of Ung Hoa district. The commune has 4 villages, namely Thuong, Trung, Giang and Tien Villages. As a locality with a tradition of studiousness, Vien Noi also has many active activities to protect the environment and improve the life of the people. In which, the Commune Women’s Union has made many practical contributions. Up to now, the whole commune has more than 80% of member families meeting the criterion of “5 no and 3 clean”. (5 No: No poverty, no relatives violating the law and social evils, no domestic violence, no violation of population policy, no children suffering from malnutrition and dropping out of school; 3 Clean: Clean house, clean kitchen, and clean alley).
Following environmental protection activities, on August 16, 2022, the Women’s Union of Vien Noi Commune in collaboration with Zila Vietnam Company held a conference to establish a model of a zero-waste residential cluster and propagate the concept of environmental protection, limiting the use of plastic bags in households for people of 4 villages.

At the conference, officials, women’s union members and people of Vien Noi commune heard the representative of Zila Vietnam impart knowledge on environmental protection, instruct how to collect and sort waste at home; method of making probiotics to treat organic waste into household-scale organic fertilizer; harmful effects of plastic bags on the environment; These are practical knowledge to reduce pollution and diseases caused by waste, create a green – clean – beautiful environment, contribute to the development of new and advanced rural areas.
After the conference, the Women’s Union of Vien Noi Commune will propagate, mobilize and organize the replication of the model of waste classification right at households, and at the same time mobilize cadres, women’s union members and the people in the commune to limit the use of plastic bags.
On this occasion, Zila Vietnam Company and the Commune Women’s Union presented 14 trash cans to the union’s members in Vien Noi commune. At the same time, the Commune Women’s Union gave gifts to 15 households selling goods at the market. Each household was presented 100 paper bags. Every household has signed a commitment not to use plastic bags when selling goods.
