In recent years, Vien Son Ward has consistently focused on the movement “All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life” and the campaign “All People Unite to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas,” considering it a key local task.
In 2024, 1,934 out of 2,014 households in Vien Son Ward registered for the “Cultural Family” title, and 100% of residential groups registered to maintain their “Cultural Group” title. By the end of the year, 1,894 out of 1,923 households achieved the “Cultural Family” title, accounting for 98.4%, while all 7 residential groups continued to achieve the “Cultural Group” title, reaching 100%.
Notably, in 2024, Vien Son Ward launched the “Model Cultural Residential Group” at Residential Group 3 Tien Huan and inaugurated the “Community Playground” project at Residential Group 1 Tien Huan.
The cultural and sports movement in Vien Son is vibrant, attracting widespread participation from the public. At the 2024 Son Tay Town Age Group Badminton Championship, Vien Son Ward had two athletes competing, who won first prize in the mixed doubles event for those over 51 years old. Vien Son Ward also hosted the 2024 Expanded Soft Volleyball Tournament and the “Children’s Festival of Joy and Health.”
The performing arts activities in Vien Son were also lively and effective. In 2024, Vien Son Ward’s team participated in the “Hanoi – Faith and Hope” Public Art Festival organized by the People’s Committee of Son Tay Town and won second prize.
Many art performances were held in the ward, attracting a large number of residents from various walks of life.
The environment in Vien Son is always green, clean, and beautiful. The phenomenon of illegal garbage dumping has almost disappeared.
The implementation of civilized lifestyle practices and local conventions is well-executed. Vien Son is one of the earliest localities in Son Tay Town to develop and implement conventions and regulations into daily life.
Weddings, funerals, and festivals are well-organized. Traditional festivals in Vien Son, such as the Phu Sa Temple Festival and the Thieu Xuan Temple Festival, are conducted safely, economically, and joyfully.
Security and order in Vien Son are maintained. The material living standards of the residents have improved. As of now, there are no poor households in the ward, with only 13 near-poor households remaining. In 2024, the Fatherland Front at all levels coordinated and supported the construction and repair of seven solidarity houses for poor households in Vien Son, with a total cost of over VND 520 million.
At the 2024 National Great Unity Day – Culture and Military-Civilian Festival, the People’s Committee of Vien Son Ward commended four collectives for their outstanding achievements in the movement “All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life” in residential areas, etc.
