This is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2024) and the 35th Anniversary of the All-People’s National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 – December 22, 2024).
The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is organized to enhance and expand international cooperation and defense diplomacy, build trust between Vietnam and countries worldwide, share defense foreign policies and strategies, and promote the development of the military and the defense industry. It provides an opportunity for domestic and international companies to introduce and display their products and seek cooperation expansion.
The exhibition also aims to strengthen international cooperation in the defense industry, diversify procurement channels, and facilitate technology transfer to produce technical and logistical equipment for the armed forces. It offers insights into the global trends in weapons and technical equipment, enabling suggestions for procurement, production, and improvement of military equipment. Additionally, it promotes the capabilities and technological potential of Vietnam’s defense industry to international friends and domestic audiences, seeking opportunities to export defense industry products.
At the November 19 press conference, a representative of the Organizing Committee stated that the exhibition is organized on a large scale, with effective and comprehensive content, attracting the participation of defense industry companies from various countries, international delegations, senior defense officials, and defense industry managers. This contributes to building the brand of Vietnam’s defense exhibition.
The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 covers over 100,000 square meters, with 15,000 square meters of indoor display space and more than 20,000 square meters of outdoor space. At the exhibition, domestic and international defense companies will showcase and introduce combat vehicles, technological solutions, weapons, equipment for the Navy, Army, Air Defense – Air Force, cybersecurity operations, and logistical and technical equipment. Vietnam’s displayed products include those developed by agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense (General Department of Defense Industry, Air Defense – Air Force, Navy, Military Technical Academy, Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center, Armored Corps, Chemical Corps, Military Science and Technology Institute, Viettel Group) and commercial and service companies under the Ministry of National Defense.

Within the exhibition area, the Organizing Committee has arranged a Vietnam Cultural Space and an exhibition area titled “Achievements in Building the People’s Armed Forces, Developing the All-People’s National Defense” to introduce the 80-year tradition, achievements, and growth of the Vietnam People’s Army, and the 35-year All-People’s National Defense Day. It will also showcase economic-defense products, digital transformation achievements of military agencies, and featured products from ministries, sectors, localities, organizations, associations, and economic corporations.
Notably, the exhibition’s opening ceremony will feature a welcome flight by the Vietnam Air Force and performances by the Vietnam People’s Army Commando and Border Guard Canine Force.
The exhibition will take place from December 19 to December 22, 2024, with public visiting hours from 1:00 PM on December 21 until the end of December 22, 2024.
