The exhibition introduces to the 15 unique works in the collection of the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum, composed by generations of artists, including those who were directly on the battlefields or witnessed the historical moment when the country completely unified.<\/p>\n

The resistance war against America to save the country and liberate the nation was full of hardships and sacrifices but extremely glorious and heroic with the participation of our army and people. It has always been a source of inspiration and creativity for many generations of artists who directly presented on the battlefields or witnessed historical moments when the country was liberated. With many different materials, the fine art works such as Pieces of land on the South<\/strong> of Pham Xuan Thi, The Resistance Mother<\/strong> of \u00a0Hoang Tram, The Heart and the barrel<\/strong> of Huynh Van Gam successfully depicted the image of the Southern wives and mothers seeing off their husbands and children to the North, also took care of soldiers in the resistance war and were the solid rear for cadres and soldiers on the front.<\/p>\n

The images of young girls energetically joining the guerrilla army, ready to transport ammunition and holding guns to protect their homelands are vividly portrayed through the series of works such as Ngu Thuy Girl’s Army<\/strong> by Hoang Tram, At the Vinh Linh’s trench<\/strong> by Dao Duc, Bullet transferring<\/strong> by Le Thanh Tru. The iron will to fight and the determination to win of the entire army and our people are also deeply conveyed through the works of This Land of our ancestors<\/strong> by Nguyen Vinh Nguyen, Through Doc Mieu<\/strong> by Le Quoc Loc, On the campaign road<\/strong> by Nguyen Thanh Chau, Returning soldiers <\/strong>by Le Thanh Tru.<\/p>\n

Under the ingenious pen strokes of the artists, the devastation and trauma of the war are clearly illustrated in American Enemy <\/strong>by Dang Thi Khue, besides, the feelings at the peaceful and romantic beauty in the moonlight amid the silence of the war through Nguyen Van Chung’s silk painting The moon on dunes<\/strong>. Gratitude and admiration for the martyrs and heroes who sacrificed for the country were also deeply sculpted by sculptor Nguyen Hai through the bronze statue Brother Nguyen Van Troi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In particular, the exhibition introduced two works\u00a0 Spring 1975\u2019s sunshine<\/strong> by Nguyen Quang Tho and The May\u2019s sunshine<\/strong> by Quach Phong showing the moment when the liberation army entered the Saigon gate with the forest of yellow-star red flags within the days of liberation.<\/p>\n

Introducing this series of works is a significant activity of the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Great Victory in Spring 1975. This is also an opportunity to recall a glorious victory in the history and to show affection and gratitude of today’s generation to the brave selflessness of former generations who fought for national independence, freedom and unity.<\/p>\n
