\nThe birth of the Youth Union stems from the reality of revolutionary struggle and the fact that Hanoi needed an independent and elite organization of patriotic youth and students. Under the direction of comrade Nguyen Quyet – Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, comrade Le Quang Dao – Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, comrade Vu Quy – a member of the party committee, comrade Vu Oanh – Secretary of Youth Union for National Salvation, Hanoi youth and students quickly became the vanguard of the revolutionary movement.
\nUnder the leadership of the Party, directly the Hanoi Party Committee, members of Hoang Dieu Citadel National Salvation Youth Union participated and took the lead in most revolutionary struggles, carried out all forms of revolutionary struggle which were daring but also very clever, creative and highly effective.
\nFor activities to be widely deployed on all fronts, as well as promote and exploit the strengths of each union member, the Executive Board of Hoang Dieu Citadel National Salvation Youth Union has established semi-specialized teams and groups separated from the National Salvation Youth Union, which operated professionally and separately and associated with each specific task.
\nNotably, in the 260 days of operation, the Hoang Dieu Citadel Propaganda and Volunteer Youth Union under the Executive Committee of the Hoang Dieu Citadel National Salvation Youth Union has successfully performed tasks such as organizing and protecting the rallies at Canh market (Hoai Duc, Ha Tay); breaking into a rally at E.P.I.V; organizing an armed march in the village of Me Tri; coordinating with the National Salvation Youth Union of Nhan Chinh and Tu Liem to destroy the Japanese granary at the communal house of Moc and Quan Nhan villages to distribute to the poor; breaking into and giving speeches to disrupt a fake independent exhibition organized by the puppet government right after the opening day\u2026
\nWith the success of the August Revolution, the Hoang Dieu citadel National Salvation Youth Union participated in protecting the revolutionary government in the capital and participated in the resistance war against France and the US. Experiencing the actual struggle has trained the patriotic youth team in Hanoi who became mature, had solid political courage and successfully completed the assigned tasks.
\nAfter the liberation in 1975, the Viet Minh Soldier Liaison Committee of Hoang Dieu citadel before the August Revolution (now known as the Liaison Committee of the Hoang Dieu Citadel National Salvation Youth Union) was established.
\nThrough the fact of the long and arduous struggle, today, the youth union members in the past have all reached the very old age, but they still maintain the revolutionary enthusiasm, fervent spirit, firm political bravery and steadfastness in the Party\u2019s renewal line, pursue the goal of national independence and socialism; is loyal to Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh\u2019s thought and willing to fight to protect the right, protect the good people; becomes the exemplary role in the implementation and at the same time propagates and mobilizes families and the masses to well and properly implement the Party\u2019s viewpoints, guidelines and resolutions, and the State\u2019s policies and laws\u2026
\nThe outstanding contributions and achievements of Hoang Dieu Citadel National Salvation Youth Union were important to the victory of the August Revolution and the resistance wars against the French and the Americans to save the country; has a strong vitality and leaves many valuable lessons for the youth and the Youth Union and the Capital\u2019s youth movement.
\nWith those achievements, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc signed Decision No. 634\/QD-CTN on April 29, 2021, conferring the title of Hero of the People\u2019s Armed Forces for the Hoang Dieu citadel National Salvation Youth Union for its outstanding achievements in the resistance war against the invading French colonialists.
\nAt the ceremony, State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc awarded the title of Hero of the People\u2019s Armed Forces to the representative of the Liaison Committee of the Hoang Dieu Citadel National Salvation Youth Union Comrade Dinh Tien Dung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee presents flowers to the Hoang Dieu Citadel National Salvation Youth Union.
\nSpeaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Duc Van, former Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, former Deputy Director of the Organization and Training Department, Ministry of Culture, Head of the Liaison Committee of the Hoang Dieu Citadel National Salvation Youth Union reviewed the historical tradition of the unit. Comrade Le Duc Van expressed: \u201cWe still vividly remember the atmosphere of the days of the August Revolution in 1945. At that time, we were just boys and girls of twenty years old with the flame of revolutionary enthusiasm and belief in the Party and President Ho Chi Minh. Today, the youngest over 90 years old and there are only 53 members present (out of 420 members), we witness this emotional and proud moment. We always express our confidence in the Party\u2019s leadership and deeply believe that today\u2019s young generation will properly inherit the tradition of the previous generation\u201d.<\/p>\n
