\u201cLiving with Folklore\u201d is a research and social communication program that gathers information and helps raise the public\u2019s awareness of the nuances and variations of folklore in contemporary times, with two main approaches: folklore in the cultural industry and folklore on the digital platform.<\/p>\n
Through two online talk shows, national and international speakers shared multi-dimensional perspectives on folklore in contemporary life, and stories about preserving, conserving, exploiting, and developing folklore in today\u2019s context.<\/p>\n
The first talk show took place on the morning of November 10 with the theme \u201cFolklore in the cultural industry<\/strong>\u201d. The show aimed to figure out the relationship between folklore and the cultural industry, the role and value of folklore in people\u2019s lives and livelihoods, the possibilities and challenges in the development of products and services of contemporary life based on folklore materials, and the ability to promote folklore through products and services of the cultural industry.<\/p>\n The show was attended by cultural experts, economic experts, policy-makers, art practitioners, and folklore-related professions such as Prof. Dr. Le Hong Ly, the Chairman of Vietnam Folk Arts Association, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu, the Vice Rector of Vietnam Japan University, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Representative of UNESCO Office in Hanoi, musician Tri Minh, toy figurine artisan Dang Van Hau, etc. Through research reports, round-table discussions and display of stories gathered in the program \u201cLiving with folklore\u201d, the show desires to demonstrate a multi-dimensional perspective on folklore in the cultural industry, with the context in Vietnam as well as in comparison with the region and the world.<\/p>\n On the afternoon of November 10, speakers will participate in a talk show with the theme \u201cDigital Folk – Folklore on a digital platform<\/strong>\u201d. The show aims to present the expression, preservation and promotion of the value of folklore on the digital platform. In the show, the speakers will talk about Vietnamese and international projects on folklore on digital platforms, in which experts and the community worked with multimedia digital materials, covering topics such as traditional performing arts, craft villages, handicrafts, objects associated with traditional customs, architectural heritage, fine arts, etc.<\/p>\n With dialogue series between guests from universities, organizations, companies and individuals working in this field at home and abroad, the show hopes to provide the audience with the sharing of practices, recommend collaborations and new initiatives to promote the conservation and digitization of folklore, and enhance people\u2019s experience of folklore on digital platforms.<\/p>\n The show \u201cLiving with folklore\u201d will be chaired by Vietnam Japan University and the Vietnam Cultural Initiatives Alliance, and jointly organized by Cheo 48h Toi cheo ve que huong, VICH \u2013 Center for Promotion of Vietnamese Cultural Heritage, Ve lang, School of Drama and Theater, with the collaboration of Vietnam Folklore Association, DPECH Group – Preservation and education of cultural heritage on digital platforms, Human interaction laboratory – University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, International Sponsoring Organization EGINA, CRHACK Lab Foligno 4D (Italy).<\/p>\n The event is a part of an event series under the Vietnam Festival of Creativity & Design 2021<\/strong>, will be organized by RMIT University Vietnam in collaboration with UNESCO, Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts (VICAS) and COLAB Vietnam from November 6 to 20 in 3 cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hue.<\/p>\n Hai Van<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" \u201cLiving with Folklore\u201d is a research and social communication program that gathers information and helps raise the public\u2019s awareness of the nuances and variations of folklore in contemporary times, with two main approaches: folklore in the cultural industry and folklore on the digital platform.
