<\/p>\nOver the years, Son Tay town has always paid attention to cultural and sports activities, considering it as an indispensable spiritual food for the people.<\/p>\n
Although the situation of COVID-19 epidemic is still complicated, from the beginning of 2022 until now, the town has organized many cultural and sports activities to serve the people, such as: exhibition of ornamental art creatures and photographs, newspapers; Vietnamese New Year program at Duong Lam Ancient Village; Spring fair; Declaration of the first publication of the pen in Lunar New Year and launching Tree Planting Festival; National chess training; Tournament of Chess, Chinese chess.<\/p>\n
For the past 28 years, every year end, Son Tay town has organized an exhibition of ornamental art creatures and photographs, New Year newspaper. In 2022, 500 art ornamental creatures from bonsai clubs, garden owners inside and outside of the town were sent to attend. The works were carefully trimmed, but still retained the essence of Vietnamese bonsai, imbued with ethnicity and humanity. The annual exhibition has been held and displayed at Son Tay Ancient Citadel with many meanings, attracting a large number of tourists inside and outside of the town coming from Hanoi, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh … come to enjoy and celebrate New Year, it is also an opportunity to promote the image of Son Tay civilization, with ancient works, typically Son Tay Ancient Citadel.<\/p>\n
At the North Gate Administration Building – the Ancient Citadel, People’s Committee of Son Tay town displayed 60 photos taken by members of Son Tay photography club and friends, and 25 publications, books, and New Year newspapers, in order to give visitors an overview of innovation and development of the Capital, country and Son Tay town.<\/p>\n
At Duong Lam Ancient Village, Hanoi Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center with Son Tay People’s Committee organized Vietnamese New Year Program. A regional specialty fair – Happy New Year 2022 with the theme \u201cTet in Doai Market\u201d with participation of embassies, international organizations, representative offices of foreign companies, travel agencies… brought the spring atmosphere of all country regions, especially the land of Doai. Specialties, handicraft products, craft villages of Son Tay and many localities were displayed. The organizers also dedicated a space to experience the traditional Tet culture with flowers, calligraphy masters and traditional games. In addition, visitors could also experience to wrap banh chung, prepare Tet feast, watch performances of traditional crafts and products such as making peanut candy, blue tea cake, rice cake, Mia chicken…. Besides, Son Tay People’s Committee also organized 5 flower markets for people to welcome New Year and shopping.<\/p>\n

Son Tay welcoming New Year<\/em><\/p>\n Especially, it has become a practice, every year Son Tay town organizes the Declaration of the first publication of the pen in Lunar New Year and launching Tree planting Festival at Temple of Literature and Son Tay Ancient Citadel, creating a beautiful culture for Son Tay people about preserving and protecting landscape, green – clean – beautiful environment, as well as demonstrating the nation’s morality of respecting teacher for the young generations of the town.<\/p>\n From the beginning of 2022 up to now, sports activities in Son Tay have lively taken place. First of all, it must be mentioned sports competitions to celebrate Communist Party and New Year organized by Son Tay Center for Culture, Information and Sports in order to celebrate the 92nd<\/sup> anniversary of establishment of Vietnamese Communist Party (3\/2\/1930-3\/2\/2022) and Lunar New Year 2022.<\/p>\n Chinese Chess Tournament<\/em><\/p>\n Chinese Chess Tournament 2022 with the participation of players and cross-country guests held a spectacular \u201cBreaking the Flag\u201d Ceremony. Next was the shuttlecock kicking tournament with the participation of athletes practicing at clubs, communes, wards, and other training locations in the town with the following contents: men\u2019s singles, men\u2019s doubles, men and women\u2019s doubles and male teammates. The Culture, Information and Sports Center also cooperated with some communes and wards to organize sports tournaments, such as coordinating with Trung Hung Ward People’s Committee to organize many folk games in Lim hill area \u2013 Va Temple: Cooking contest, tug of war, human chess, slow cycling\u2026.<\/p>\n Recently, within the framework of the 10th<\/sup> Son Tay Sports Festival, the Steering Committee held the opening of the chess tournament.
