The wonderful memories of the Buoi market, the Mo market, the scene of the Dong Xuan market on Tet Holiday, and the Cong Cheo – Hang Luoc flower market will live on in the hearts of Hanoians forever. The market is a place where people come but do not always need to purchase or sell anything; at those times, the market is a place to meet, exchange, and entertain, and it is a cultural aspect in the daily lives of the Ha Thanh people.<\/p>\n
The Hanoi market has changed dramatically in recent years. Many contemporary supermarkets have sprouted up, and while some markets have been renovated to commercial areas, many historic markets have been lost as a result of city planning. The Hanoi market has evolved dramatically over time, but the charm of the old market remains as part of the capital’s cultural and historical identity.<\/p>\n

With the desire to bring the public back to the old memories of Hanoi in the flow of history through documents and vivid images of markets and market streets, National Archives Center I – Department of the State Records and Archives organizes an online documentary exhibition “The Old Market Memories”.<\/p>\n
The old market images such as Dong Xuan market, Buoi market, Tet flower market, traditional markets, and pedlar of old Hanoi from the 19th century to the early 20th century will be recreated in the most realistic and lively way through two main themes of the exhibition: The Planning Stories and Old Memories.<\/p>\n
The online exhibition “The Old Market Memories” will take place from April 25, 2022 on the website and fanpage of the National Archives Center I – Department of State Records and Archives.<\/p>\n
