The program serves as a practical initiative that draws attention to the roles and proactive involvement of individuals, families, communities, agencies, and organizations in ensuring social welfare and empowering women and girls. Its focus lies in preventing gender-based violence.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the morning of December 5, 2023, at Nguyen Thuong Hien Secondary School, the Women\u2019s Union of Ung Hoa District organized a program in response to the Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Action Month. The event aimed to raise awareness about responsibilities and active participation in social welfare, as well as to enhance empowerment for women and girls. Attendees included delegates such as Ms. Duong Thi Ly Anh, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Legal Policy Board of the Hanoi Women\u2019s Union; Mr. Nguyen Chi Vien, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People\u2019s Council. Over 200 officials, union members, women, and students from Nguyen Thuong Hien Secondary School participated in the program.<\/p>\n

In Response to the Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Action Month for the year 2023, themed \u201cEnsuring Social Welfare, Empowering Women and Girls for Gender Equality, and Eliminating Gender-Based Violence,\u201d the extensive and concrete dissemination was underscored through practical activities. Opening the program with an inaugural speech, Ms. Pham Thuy Hoa, District Party Committee Member and Chairwoman of the District Women\u2019s Union in Ung Hoa, urged women\u2019s union members at all levels and officials to focus on implementing key aspects:<\/p>\n

Firstly<\/em>, effectively realize the theme of the 2023 Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Action Month: \u201cEmpowering women is enhancing the nation\u2019s stature; Gender equality, civilized society, and happy families.\u201d<\/em> Each women\u2019s union official should exemplify the Party\u2019s policies, and legal principles of the state, and mobilize comprehensive participation from all levels, sectors, and community members actively, particularly emphasizing the roles of women, girls, and men in achieving national gender equality goals.<\/p>\n

Secondly,<\/em> organize specialized activities, seminars, and forums on gender equality, anti-violence, and prevention of violence against women and children, linked with the movement to build \u201c5 No 3 Clean\u201d families and the model of \u201c5 Good 3 Clean.\u201d This includes a focus on the criterion \u201cNo violence in the family, having a safe home, and sustainable livelihoods.\u201d Encourage the emulation movement \u201cBuilding Graceful, Innovative, Reliable, and Elegant Capital Women\u201d <\/em>and involve men and individuals with influence in the community and groups of women with limited access to information.<\/p>\n

Thirdly,<\/em> proactively advise and organize meetings and dialogues on gender equality and social welfare. Contribute warmth by delivering shelters of affection and giving gifts to women and children facing difficult circumstances.<\/p>\n

Fourthly,<\/em> take the initiative to participate in monitoring the implementation of laws and policies on gender equality, family violence prevention, and children\u2019s rights. Timely identify, speak out, and propose authorities and relevant sectors to seriously handle cases of violence and harassment against women and children, providing support to victims to access assistance services and ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of women and children.<\/p>\n

In a bid to echo and foster the widespread call for collective action to eliminate violence against women and girls, as part of the program, over 200 officials, union members, women, and students from Nguyen Thuong Hien Secondary School represented the district in a collective dance featuring the colors of orange: \u201cLinking Large Circles,\u201d \u201cLac Hong Bloodline,\u201d and \u201cUnity Dance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Concluding the program, city leaders, district officials, and program attendees collectively crafted and affixed orange commitment messages, underscoring their joint commitment to combat violence and construct a safe city for women and children. Each message reflected the determination of the entire political system and community to prevent gender-based violence, building a safe, friendly, equal, progressive, civilized, and happy society.<\/p>\n

This program serves as a practical initiative, acting as a focal point for the gender equality and violence prevention campaign throughout the entire district. It draws attention to the roles and responsibilities of individuals, families, communities, institutions, and organizations in ensuring social welfare and empowering women and girls. The initiative concentrates resources on promoting gender equality and preventing violence against women and girls, concurrently advancing the goals and tasks aimed at gender equality for comprehensive societal development. The objective is to establish a safe, equal, non-violent, non-abusive community for women and children, ensuring they live in a nurturing environment and receive comprehensive care, and contribute collectively to building a cultured, modern, and developed capital.<\/p>\n
