According to the report at the conference, Hanoi has successfully organized many meaningful activities. Notably, a large and effective \u201cpeak\u201d emulation campaign was launched involving cadres, party members, workers, officials, employees, and all layers of people in Hanoi to mark the 70th<\/sup> anniversary of the Capital Liberation.<\/p>\n

100% of departments, agencies, political and social organizations, districts, towns, and affiliated units within the city have organized emulation movements that have attracted widespread participation from all sectors of society and achieved significant results. On October 8, 2024, the city hosted a conference to honor advanced role models, \u201cGood people, good deeds,\u201d and honored the \u201cOutstanding Citizens of Hanoi.\u201d During this event, 700 exemplary \u201cGood people, good deeds\u201d and 10 \u201cOutstanding Citizens of Hanoi\u201d were honored\u201d.<\/p>\n

The city\u2019s departments also carried out many gratitude activities, including organizing delegations to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, laying wreaths at memorials for fallen soldiers in the city\u2019s cemeteries and monuments. Three delegations from the city visited memorials and offered incense at cemeteries for fallen soldiers in Ha Giang, Dien Bien, and Quang Tri, while also visiting and presenting gifts to the families of martyrs who directly participated in the anti-French resistance and the Liberation of Hanoi, with a total of 2,556 gifts valued at nearly VND 13 billion.<\/p>\n

The program \u201cCultural Festival for Peace\u201d was held solemnly. A national scientific seminar on the theme \u201cNew Vision, New Opportunities to Build Hanoi as a Civilized, Modern, Globalized Capital\u201d (co-organized by the Party Central Propaganda Department, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Public Security, and Hanoi Party Committee) attracted numerous experts, leaders, managers, and research agencies from various fields.<\/p>\n

Notably, the national-level ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation, organized by the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and the Hanoi City People\u2019s Committee, was successfully held on October 10, 2024. The event left a profound impact, conveying a deep educational message on historical traditions to the people of Hanoi and the entire nation.<\/p>\n

Overall, large-scale activities were successfully organized, solemnly, and with the appropriate stature, meeting the plan and quality requirements, with both broad and deep impacts, attracting public attention both domestically and internationally. These activities stirred emotions and fostered trust, pride, and a renewed belief in the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the country\u2019s and the City\u2019s renewal process.<\/p>\n

At the conference, Central Party Member, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, and Chairman of Hanoi People\u2019s Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that the activities commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi were successful, meaningful, practical, and effective, in line with the actual conditions of Hanoi and the country. These efforts have helped raise awareness and foster pride in the glorious history and the peace and friendship tradition of Hanoi and the nation. They also honor the contributions of revolutionaries and promote Hanoi as the \u201cMillennial Capital,\u201d the \u201cCity for Peace,\u201d and the \u201cCreative City\u201d to friends both domestically and internationally…<\/p>\n

With the spirit of the Liberation of Hanoi, Chairman of the Hanoi People\u2019s Committee expressed confidence that, in the future, the Party committee, government, and people of Hanoi would lead by example, work in unity, and strive to meet the goals and tasks set out in the 13th National Party Congress and the 17th<\/sup> Hanoi Party Congress resolutions. The city will prepare well to successfully organize the Party Congresses for the 2025-2030 term and the 18th Hanoi Party Congress in preparation for the 14th<\/sup> National Party Congress;<\/p>\n

The city will continue to effectively implement Resolution No. 15-NQ\/TU dated May 5, 2022, by the Politburo on the \u201cDevelopment Direction and Tasks for Hanoi by 2030, Vision 2045,\u201d and the capital\u2019s planning for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and the Hanoi Master Plan until 2045, Vision to 2065, Capital Law (amended), for Hanoi to develop rapidly and sustainably, continue to be \u201cworthy of being the national political and administrative nerve center, the heart of the whole country\u201d, \u201cworthy of being the Capital in the new era of development of the country\u201d as directed and assigned by General Secretary To Lam in his speech at the 70th<\/sup> Anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.<\/p>\n
