At the event, Vice Chairman of Hoai Duc District People\u2019s Committee, Nguyen Trung Thuan, stated: Hoai Duc is an ancient land with a rich history spanning thousands of years, and it is one of the main settlement areas of the Van Lang people during the establishment of the nation. According to the City\u2019s Inventory of Monuments, Hoai Duc has 269 historical sites. The district has 111 ranked monuments, including 69 national-level sites and 42 city-level sites. Notably, the district is home to monuments dedicated to Ly Bi, the first Emperor of Vietnam, and Ly Phuc Man, a figure who contributed to the establishment and defense of the independent Van Xuan state in the 6th century.<\/p>\n

According to the City\u2019s Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage, Hoai Duc has 55 intangible cultural heritage elements, including performing arts, social practices, traditional festivals, folk knowledge, and heritage that is prioritized for protection. Additionally, one intangible heritage has been recognized by UNESCO, and five artisans have been honored with the titles of People\u2019s Artisan and Excellent Artisan by the state. One artisan has been posthumously awarded the title of Excellent Artisan.<\/p>\n

In addition, Hoai Duc district is home to many festivals and representative forms of art, such as the Giang Xa Festival, the Yen So Commune Procession, La Phu Pig Procession, the Son Dong Flower Throwing Festival, Ngai Cau Ca Tru of An Khanh Commune, Tuong of An Thuong Commune, and more<\/p>\n

Vice Chairman Nguyen Trung Thuan emphasized that the protection and preservation of intangible cultural heritage require opportunities for younger generations to connect with these practices and pass them on. This goal requires the collective efforts of local authorities, schools, and society. Therefore, the Department of Culture and Information and the Department of Education and Training will continue collaborating with agencies, organizations, and schools to organize activities promoting and teaching intangible cultural heritage to the public and students. Schools must take proactive steps to organize activities where students\u2014the future generation\u2014can learn, engage with, and ignite a passion for these cultural heritages and traditional values.<\/p>\n

In response to Vietnam\u2019s Cultural Heritage Day, Nguyen Thi Huyen, Principal of An Khanh Secondary School, shared: In support of the district\u2019s call for the preservation and promotion of the nation\u2019s cultural heritage, An Khanh Secondary School will continue to play an active role in preserving and developing Vietnamese culture sustainably and in line with contemporary trends. The school will also work with relevant agencies to further promote the teaching of patriotism, national pride, and the responsibility to protect Vietnam\u2019s cultural heritage to the students and the younger generations of Hoai Duc.<\/p>\n

During the event, Hoai Duc also hosted performances and teachings by national-level and excellent artisans from the Ngai Cau Ca Tru Club of An Khanh Commune and the Tuong Club of An Thuong Commune. Through these performances, students were provided with foundational knowledge about traditional cultural heritage, helping them appreciate, preserve, and ignite the flame of heritage, nurturing their love for their homeland and nation<\/p>\n

Additionally, An Khanh Secondary School organized a competition where students could learn about intangible cultural heritage.<\/p>\n
