<\/p>\nDuring the 2020\u20132025 term, the Party Committee of Thuong Tin District issued Program No. 02-CTr\/HU on August 22, 2020, titled \u201cPromoting Agricultural, Rural, and Farmer Development Toward Modern, Prosperous, and Civilized Standards; Building an Advanced New Rural Area in Association with Preserving and Promoting the Historical and Cultural Values of Thuong Tin District for the 2020\u20132025 Period.\u201d Since then, the district has implemented numerous initiatives to invest in cultural development, achieving significant results that contribute to socio-economic development.<\/p>\n
In 2021, the district completed the policy of socializing the \u201cInvestment and Development of the Cultural and Historical Value of Van Tu Thuong Phuc.\u201d The newly constructed site spans over 3,500 square meters, featuring a ceremonial area, incense hall, main hall, auxiliary wings, stele house, columns, and other supporting structures. Van Tu Thuong Phuc preserves steles inscribed with the names of renowned scholars from Thuong Tin District, such as national hero Nguyen Trai, scholar Nguyen Phi Khanh, second-rank doctoral laureate Ly Tu Tan, and other distinguished scholars including Duong Truc Nguyen, Tran Trong Lieu, Ngo Hoan, Nguyen Y, Duong Cong Do, Ung Ngan Luong, Vu Duc Chinh, Nguyen Trac, Doan Hoanh Tuan, Duong Hang, Doan Mau Khoi, and patriot-scholar Luong Van Can. These figures are not only the pride of Thuong Tin District and Hanoi but also of the entire nation. Van Tu Thuong Phuc has become a symbol of Thuong Tin\u2019s rich scholarly heritage. This site fosters educational values and promotes the tradition of academic excellence, inspiring the community to build a culturally rich, modern, and civilized Thuong Tin. It also contributes to enhancing Hanoi\u2019s reputation as a \u201cCity for Peace\u201d and a land of millennia-old cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

Memorial complex of \u200b\u200bnational hero and cultural celebrity Nguyen Trai<\/p>\n
On November 14, 2022, Thuong Tin District broke ground on the Nguyen Trai Memorial Complex project in Nhi Khe Commune, covering 2.7 hectares with a total investment of VND 144 billion. The project consists of three zones: Zone S1: Spanning approximately 21,118 square meters, it includes a bell tower, drum tower, left and right auxiliary buildings, exhibition spaces, memorial halls, an octagonal pavilion, crescent-shaped lake, monument, main gate, and supporting facilities; Zone S2: Covering about 5,237 square meters, it features a management office, service facilities, flower gardens, fencing, and other auxiliary structures; and Zone Sgt: Comprising 1,368 square meters, this zone includes a seven-story \u201cChi Nghia\u201d Tower, landscaped gardens, auxiliary facilities, and a model of the historical site \u201cAi Nam Quan\u201d. The construction of this memorial complex is an opportunity to instill a deep love and pride in the nation\u2019s traditions, maximize cultural, historical, and artistic values, and ensure harmony with the surrounding landscape. It also introduces cultural history, supports scientific research, and serves as a destination for visitors. Furthermore, it raises public awareness about preserving cultural heritage, ensuring that culture becomes the spiritual foundation of society and a driving force for local economic development.<\/p>\n
The district has made significant efforts to protect, preserve, and promote heritage sites. Over 74 sites have received funding for urgent repairs and upgrades, with VND 78 billion sourced from the district budget. Between 2018 and 2022, over VND 50 billion from community contributions was mobilized to restore and renovate heritage sites, with some sites being entirely funded by social contributions.<\/p>\n
Over the years, the Party Committee, People\u2019s Council, and People\u2019s Committee of Thuong Tin District have focused on intangible cultural heritage preservation. Collaborating with Hanoi\u2019s Cultural Center and the Vietnam Folklore Arts Association, the district has researched and revived traditional art forms at risk of extinction, such as hat trong quan (antiphonal singing), hat cheo (traditional opera), chau van (spiritual singing), and waterless puppetry. To preserve tangible and intangible cultural heritage, the district organized a scientific seminar on the topic \u201cPrincess Khuc Thi Ngoc and Investment Policies for Restoring the Vinh Mo Temple-Pagoda Complex in Nguyen Trai Commune.\u201d The seminar attracted many researchers who provided heartfelt suggestions to appropriately restore the complex, commemorating the significant contributions of Princess Khuc Thi Ngoc, etc.<\/p>\n
Located in the southern part of Hanoi, Thuong Tin is a land of scholars and craftsmanship. The district boasts 462 religious and spiritual structures, including 126 ranked heritage sites (61 at the national level and 65 at the municipal level), with many well-known cultural and historical landmarks such as Dau Pagoda, Chuong Duong Temple, and the Nguyen Trai Memorial Church.<\/p>\n
