\u00a0<\/em>The program was directed in content by the Hanoi Party Committee \u2013 People\u2019s Council \u2013 People\u2019s Committee \u2013 Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, and performed by the Thang Long Music, Dance and Drama Theater. It is one of the events in the series organized by Hanoi to commemorate the 80th<\/sup> anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 \u2013 August 19, 2025) and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 \u2013 September 2, 2025).<\/p>\n

Attending the program were delegates who are Politburo members, including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Secretary of the Central Party Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Head of Hanoi\u2019s National Assembly Delegation Bui Thi Minh Hoai. Also present were Secretary of the Central Party Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People\u2019s Court Le Minh Tri; Central Party Committee member, Vice Chair of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh, along with representatives of central ministries and agencies.<\/p>\n

Delegates from Hanoi included Central Party Committee member, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People\u2019s Committee Tran Sy Thanh; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong; Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People\u2019s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, along with members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, leaders of the People\u2019s Council, People\u2019s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi; ambassadors and representatives of foreign embassies in Vietnam and a large number of the capital\u2019s resident.<\/p>\n

In his opening remarks, Central Party Committee member, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People\u2019s Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized: \u201cIn the sacred and heroic atmosphere of the historic autumn \u2013 the revolutionary autumn; together with the pride of the capital\u2019s people and compatriots across the country, at the August Revolution Square, a special art program with the theme \u2018Hanoi \u2013 From the Historic Autumn of 1945\u2019 takes place \u2013 one of the prominent activities of the capital to celebrate the 80th<\/sup> anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Chairman Tran Sy Thanh: \u201c80 years ago, the August Revolution Square was the site of the historic rally on August 19, 1945, by the people of Hanoi, marking the beginning of the General Uprising to seize power across the country. From this place, the revolutionary flame, patriotism, and the determination of the Vietnamese people to achieve independence and freedom ignited and spread, creating a brilliant milestone \u2013 the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on September 2, 1945. This event is a shining milestone in the history of nation-building and safeguarding, opening a new era of independence, freedom associated with socialism, transforming our people from a state of servitude to being masters of the country and of their own destiny. Over 80 years of defending, building, and developing the country, particularly nearly 40 years of renovation, under the Party\u2019s wise leadership, our nation has achieved significant and historically meaningful accomplishments across all fields; Vietnam\u2019s position and prestige have been continuously affirmed and elevated internationally.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chairman of Hanoi People\u2019s Committee affirmed: \u201cThroughout this glorious journey, Hanoi \u2013 the thousand-year-old capital, the Hero City, the City for Peace \u2013 has been the origin of the nation\u2019s journey toward independence, unity, and national development. Today, Hanoi is not only the political-administrative center and the heart of the country but also a major hub for economy, culture, education and training, science, technology, and international integration. This vividly demonstrates the determination, will, and strong aspirations of the Party Committee, authorities, and people of the capital. The special art program \u2018Hanoi \u2013 From the Historic Autumn of 1945,\u2019 held at August Revolution Square \u2013 the site of monumental historical events, honoring patriotism, revolutionary spirit, and national pride \u2013 further emphasizes the profound significance: it not only recalls the glorious history of the nation from the brilliant August milestone of 1945 but also spreads a strong message of resilience and aspiration of the entire nation. The program is a message, a reaffirmation by the Party Committee, authorities, and people of the capital to continue the nation\u2019s glorious history, the heroic revolutionary tradition, harness all potentials and internal strengths to build Hanoi into a green \u2013 smart \u2013 modern capital, contributing to the realization of Vietnam\u2019s goal to develop into a prosperous, strong, and happy nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recreating the Major Milestones in 80 Years of Hanoi and Vietnam\u2019s History<\/strong><\/p>\n

The special art program \u201cHanoi \u2013 From the Historic Autumn of 1945\u201d was directed by People\u2019s Artist Tan Minh, with historical advisor and commentator: Associate Professor, Doctor Tran Duc Cuong; Music Director: Musician Duong Cam; Orchestra Conductor: Conductor Dong Quang Vinh; Script supervisor and general director: Master Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh. The program featured nearly 1,000 artists and performers from various Hanoi and central artistic units based in the city. Among them were familiar faces such as People\u2019s Artists Hoang Anh Tu, Tan Minh, artist Xuan Hinh, Meritorious Artists Dang Duong, Tran Lin, singers Hoang Hai, Van Mai Huong, Lam Bao Ngoc, Dong Hung, Khanh Linh, Trong Hung, group Oplus\u2026<\/p>\n

With 3 acts and 6 scenes, the special art program \u201cHanoi \u2013 From the Historic Autumn of 1945\u201d was elaborately staged, harmoniously combining official narrative and epic quality, vividly and heroically recreating major milestones in Vietnamese history and Hanoi\u2019s history. Utilizing a combination of contemporary and traditional art forms along with modern presentation technology, the program left a strong impression and evoked pride among a large audience.<\/p>\n

With a duration of approximately 90 minutes, the program presented numerous songs such as \u201cThe Internationale\u201d (Pierre De Geyter) with mash-up segments including songs associated with the fervor of the people during the General Uprising: \u201cGuerrilla Song\u201d (Do Nhuan), \u201cCall of Youth\u201d (Luu Huu Phuoc), \u201cDestroy Fascists\u201d (Nguyen Dinh Thi), \u201cTogether as Red Troops\u201d (Dinh Nhu), \u201cAugust 19\u201d (Xuan Oanh)\u2026 and particularly magnificent and emotional with the chorus \u201cMarching Song\u201d (Van Cao) accompanied by the flag salute and singing of thousands of audience members at August Revolution Square. Additionally, the program featured songs such as \u201cPeople of Hanoi\u201d (Nguyen Dinh Thi), \u201cLong March\u201d (Do Nhuan), \u201cOn Him Lam Hill\u201d (Do Nhuan), \u201cUncle Ho Marches With Us\u201d (Huy Thuc \u2013 Tran Chung), \u201cThe Whole Country Rejoices\u201d (Hoang Ha), \u201cPraise the Fatherland\u201d (Ho Bac), \u201cWho Loves Uncle Ho\u201d (Phong Nha), \u201cHanoi \u2013 Faith and Hope\u201d (Phan Nhan), \u201cThe Letter Written in a Hurry\u201d (Duong Cam), \u201cHanoi\u2019s Epic Song\u201d (Duong Cam), \u201cHa Noi Xam\u201d (Hoang Anh Tu), \u201cHanoi Light Up the City\u201d (Duong Cam)\u2026<\/p>\n

All performances were staged with large, magnificent scenes featuring a massive cast, creating a heroic, exhilarating atmosphere reflecting the country and the capital during major historical periods. These included the historic autumn days when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square, founding the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; the steadfast, indomitable Hanoi during the \u201cDien Bien Phu in the air\u201d campaign, contributing to the liberation of the South and national reunification; the joyous celebration of Hanoi citizens in victory, determined to build a prosperous, civilized capital. Particularly, with modern technology, 3D mapping combined with artistic fireworks, music, lighting, and visual effects vividly recreated important milestones in Vietnamese history and Thang Long Hanoi, such as the relocation of the capital, Ho Chi Minh\u2019s journey to seek national salvation, and the 1945 General Uprising, leaving a strong impression on the audience.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>With many spectacular and engaging performances, the special art program \u201cHanoi \u2013 From the Historic Autumn of 1945\u201d not only revisited significant milestones in history but also prominently portrayed the image of Hanoi people as elegant, cultured, steadfast, indomitable in battle, ready to sacrifice for national independence, freedom, and the thousand-year-old cultural land of Thang Long. The program is a meaningful tribute to past generations, helping to awaken national pride, love for homeland and country, and the spirit of unity, empowering today\u2019s generations to confidently continue building a modern, civilized capital and country in the era of Vietnam\u2019s national renaissance.<\/p>\n
