Participants in the training course included members of cultural heritage preservation teams from Minh Quang and Khanh Thuong communes. The class was conducted by Artisan Bui Thanh Binh, a researcher of Muong folk literature and Director of the Muong Cultural Heritage Museum in Hoa Binh. During the course, participants were introduced to: an overview of Muong culture in general and the characteristics of Muong gong culture in particular; guidance on how to preserve and use gongs and drumsticks, how to select gongs, and the proper techniques of Muong gong playing; basic knowledge of the sounds and melodies of Muong gongs; practical instructions in gong performance, including traditional Muong folk pieces such as Di Duong (On the Road) and Bong Trang – Bong Vang (White Flower – Yellow Flower); as well as assessment, classification, and advanced skill training. At the end of the training, participating teams exchanged and shared experiences in gong performance.<\/p>\n
