The Hanoi Train draws inspiration from the ancient Thang Long citadel. Its carriages are named after the city\u2019s five historic gates: O Cau Den, O Quan Chuong, O Cau Giay, O Cho Dua, and O Dong Mac, evoking Hanoi\u2019s thousand-year heritage and the cultural legacy of the Red River Delta.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This new tourism product was launched on August 19 by Vietnam Railways Corporation in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Tourism and partner units, marking the 80th<\/sup> anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).<\/p>\n

The product is expected to meet travel and sightseeing demand while contributing to the preservation and promotion of Hanoi\u2019s historic gates, aligned with the city\u2019s sustainable cultural-tourism strategy.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>The Hanoi Train consists of 10 double-decker carriages, marking its debut in Vietnam. The interior blends classic and modern elements, featuring large windows that offer passengers a distinctive view of the capital.<\/p>\n

The design supports a blend of transportation, relaxation, cultural experiences, and photography, appealing to both residents and visitors.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>According to the plan, operations begin on August 19, a peak period for domestic and international visitors.<\/p>\n

In the initial phase, seven carriages will be in service with three trips per day, departing from Hanoi Station, passing Long Bien, Gia Lam, Yen Vien, Tu Son (Bac Ninh), and returning to the starting point. Scheduled departures are 8:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

Restaurant and caf\u00e9 cars are expected to be added, gradually forming a closed-loop rail-based tourism ecosystem.<\/p>\n

Positioned as a mobile cultural space, the train offers music activities, mini-exhibitions, interactive exchanges, and contemporary ways to experience Hanoi\u2019s history and memories.<\/p>\n

While integrating culture into public transport is common internationally, it remains relatively new in Vietnam. The Hanoi Train is seen as a positive step toward preserving urban heritage within modern social life.<\/p>\n

The Hanoi Train is among several new tourism offerings launched for the 80th<\/sup> anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2). During this period, Hanoi will also introduce metro-based tourism products and additional cultural and leisure offerings to meet diverse travel needs.<\/p>\n
