Bicycles and gifts are given to disadvantaged children by Hanoi city

At the program, the Hanoi Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs coordinated with the sponsors to donate 50 bicycles, each worth VND 2 million and 50 gifts to 50 disadvantaged students of 17 wards in Ha Dong district. Also at the program, Ha Dong District People’s Committee organized to give gifts to 135 disadvantaged students, each worth VND 800,000.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Hoang Thanh Thai – Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, said: In 2021, in the context of the return of the Covid-19 pandemic with very complicated developments, the People’s Committee of Hanoi City issued a Plan No. 110/KH-UBND to implement the Month of Action for Children with the theme “Joining hands to ensure children’s rights and protect children from natural disasters and epidemics”. The Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications and the Youth Union of the Emulation Cluster to visit and give gifts to 395 children living in 07 isolation areas in the city; at the same time, direct the Hanoi City Children’s Fund to carry out many activities to support children such as visiting and giving gifts to the disadvantaged children at 08 social protection establishments under the Department; donated 02 sets of outdoor play equipment to Van Hoa commune, Ba Vi district and Yen Trung commune, Thach That district; gave 739 gifts to children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Ba Vi district and Thach That district; visited and gave gifts to 02 disadvantaged children of Doc Tin commune and Dai Hung commune of My Duc district in the “Journey to raise the wings of dreams” program.

The program of giving bicycles and gifts to disadvantaged children is a practical and meaningful activity that shows the City’s concern for children in the Month of Action for Children 2021.
