Coming to this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, children will enjoy hundreds of specialties from three country regions including folk cakes made from clean ingredients from Sa Dec Flour Village (Dong Thap), OCOP products, and various products made from fruits, mooncakes, etc.

The organizers arranged large boats displaying fruits from the three country regions combined with lanterns of various sizes to create a fanciful, shimmering space. Surely this will be an ideal area for children and visitors to enjoy and take souvenir photos.

The exhibition space with the theme “Mid-Autumn Festival past and present” is a series of stories telling about the Mid-Autumn Festival using images such as ancient Mid-Autumn Festival rituals, images of the Mid-Autumn party, moon cakes, and moon toys in the past and present.

And, the space of folk paintings and traditional handicraft products using modern materials show the beautiful contrast. In this space, there are traditional masks and creative masks of Assoc. PhD. Trang Thanh Hien made of bamboo frames and bamboo blinds.

 Unicorn – Lion – Dragon dance performance in Mid-Autumn Festival

Participating in the festival, children will have the opportunity to make the traditional Mid-Autumn products with artisans such as lanterns, painting masks from pasteboard, to he, making clay toys, and creations from coconut leaves, bamboo pens, traditional cakes, etc. The children will understand better about the Vietnamese craft villages where artisans are still quietly working, preserving the national character through each product.

The exhibition area of ​​books and educational equipment with the theme “Cùng em đến trường (Go to school with children)” introduces hundreds of children’s books as well as school supplies from publishers.

Throughout the festival are special art shows, puppetry, circus…: Circus, variety show “Vui đón Trung thu (Happy Mid-Autumn Festival)”; puppetry  show “Vầng trăng cổ tích (Fairy Moon)”; art program “Ánh trăng huyền diệu (Magic Moonlight)”; the program “Đêm hội rước đèn và phá cỗ Trung thu (Night of playing with lanterns and enjoying party under moon ligh)”, performances of Unicor – Lion – Dragon dance, children’s fashion show with the theme “Lan Vong Nguyet”, etc.

Mid-Autumn Festival is held to create a healthy and attractive playground for children, and to raise awareness and responsibility of families, communities and organizations for the protection, care and education of children, ensuring equal rights for all children to participate in entertainment activities, social activities, building a friendly environment.

The 2022 Mid-Autumn Festival will take place from September 7 to September 10, 2022 (from August 12 to 15 of the lunar calendar) at the Vietnam Art and Culture Exhibition Center (No. 2, Hoa Lu, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi), which promises to bring interesting and exciting experiences and emotions to children in the capital.
