Mr. Kuroiwa Yuji, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, stated at the opening ceremony: “Despite being geographically distant from Vietnam, Japan in general and Kanagawa province in particular have always maintained a bond cooperation relationship between the two countries, typically cultural exchange activities, in which the two localities are Hanoi city and Kanagawa province.” These are obvious indications that this cooperation has actively contributed to establishing a firm foundation and boosting development cooperation between the two countries in a variety of fields. After the Covid-19 epidemic disrupted the two years 2020 and 2021, Kanagawa Prefecture, on behalf of Japan, continues to launch the Kanagawa event in Hanoi, demonstrating its great dedication and determination to strengthen cultural relations with Vietnam.

The Japanese Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi in 2022, hopefully, will be a good opportunity for the public and the Hanoians to feel and discover Japan’s unique cultural features with bold traditional colors through performances of anecdotes of the Ninja Fuma, the beautifully impressive Yosakoi dance, and concerts of Japanese folk instruments from Kanagawa. At the same time, learn about popular tourist locations and traditional Japanese cultural customs.

Mr. Do Dinh Hong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, expressed his excitement and honor at speaking with the Governor of Kanagawa at the Opening Ceremony, saying: “Hanoi city always attaches great priority to promoting events.” Cultural exchange events between the city and Japanese localities, particularly Kanagawa prefecture. Vietnam and Japan will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations in 2023.

To practically respond to the aforementioned major anniversary event, Hanoi city will continue to collaborate with Kanagawa province and other localities and provinces of Japan to research and organize cultural exchange events between Japan and Japan. As a result, they are aggressively boosting the cooperative partnership and strengthening the friendship between the two peoples.
