The movie “Jasmine flower” was born when Director, People’s Artist Dang Nhat Minh was over 80 years old. The film was completed after two years under the heavy impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. “Jasmine flower” is a collage depicting the life of Hanoians in the 2000s, a long time before the pandemic. However, the message of healing by human kindness in urban life in those years is very close to us today, who have just passed through the sequences and upheavals of the pandemic. Those pieces are the life of a shoe shine boy, a sidewalk barber, an old teacher who teaches singing to a choir of blind students and a farmer who moves to Hanoi to work as a staff taking care of the sick, etc. These separate lives combine to form a colorful picture of the life of ordinary Hanoians in the 2000s. There, we could see the changes of Hanoi during its transformation and in its relationship with neighboring areas…

After being screened within the framework of the film festival, “Jasmine flower” is expected to be widely released in early 2023.
