Especially, there were many people who are descendants of two doctors from Khe Ngoai village, Van Khe commune, Me Linh district, Hanoi.

At the celebration, Mr. Le Xuan Kieu – Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam said that from 1075 to 1919, Me Linh district had 9 people who passed the Great Graduation Exam. Accordingly, two doctors Nguyen Ly Chau and Nguyen Chau Mao were the ones who achieved high result, making the name of Khe Ngoai homeland. The names, hometowns and passing grades of the two doctors are engraved on the steles titled “Doctor of At Mui Course – The 6th Hong Duc year (1475) under King Le Thanh Tong’s reign and of Giap Tuat Course – The 6th Hong Thuan year (1514) under King Le Tuong Duc’s reign, still existing at the special national monument of Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam.

According to documents such as official history, private history, Dang Khoa Luc (graduation document), Nguyen Ly Chau, student at Quoc Tu Giam School, passed the Third Circuit Doctorate at At Mui Course – The 6th Hong Duc year (1475) under King Le Thanh Tong’s reign at the age of 32 years old. More than 30 years later, the Khe Ngoai hometown had another person registering his name on the gold board, that is, Dr. Nguyen Chau Mao. At the age of 25, he obtained a doctorate at Giap Tuat – The 6th Hong Thuan year (1514) under Le Tuong Duc’s reign. Both doctors passed high ranks, became mandarins, and devoted their talents to the early Le dynasty. The two men have similarities that they were allowed by the kings of early Le dynasty to assume the position of chief and deputy of Ngu Su Dai – the place for consultation of the State. Nguyen Ly Chau held up to the position of Deputy Royal Adviser, trat Chanh tu pham, and Nguyen Chau Mao held the position of Chief Royal Adviser, trat Chanh tam pham.

At the meeting, the scientists clarified the life, career and contributions of Dr. Nguyen Ly Chau and Dr. Nguyen Chau Mao to the homeland and the values of the heritage of the two academic celebrities – Dr. Nguyen Ly Chau and Dr. Nguyen Chau Mao today.
