In the past few days, there were many sports activities, typically the Table Tennis Tournament of Dong Anh District Clubs and Open An Duong Vuong Chess Tournament, and many sports activities taking place in communes, towns, many agencies and units, etc. in the Dong Anh district.
*Celebrating 50 years of Victory “Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air” (December 18, 1972 – December 18, 2022), 78 years of establishment of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 – December 22, 2022), celebrating Dong Anh district to receive the First-class Labor Medal, in the past few days, many sports activities have been held in Dong Anh district, typically the Table Tennis Tournament of Dong Anh District Clubs and the Open An Duong Vuong Chess Tournament, and many sports activities taking place excitingly in communes, towns, many agencies and units in the district, such as Youth football tournament, Children’s football tournament, Relay race, Youth badminton tournament, Zumba dance competition, Volleyball tournament, etc.
The Club Table Tennis Tournament attracted 14 units, with 250 athletes participating. The athletes competed in 320 matches in 9 events: Men’s team, competing in 4 age groups; men’s team with strong athletes; Men’s singles competing in 3 age groups and women’s team. After 2 days of exciting competition (December 3-4, 2022), the athletes gave the audience good matches, beautiful goals, attracting a large audience to watch and support.
The organizing committee awarded 12 first prizes, 12 second prizes and 24 third prizes to athletes who won prizes in the competitions, and to age groups.
* Yesterday afternoon, December 4, 2022, the Open An Duong Vuong Chess Tournament was held, attracted 200 players who are students of primary schools in the district, and also the members of Dong Anh Chess Club and members of other chess clubs from the provinces of Bac Giang, Hai Duong and districts of Ba Dinh, Dong Da, Hoang Mai, Bac Tu Liem and Gia Lam.
Players competed in individual events for men and women, with 6 age groups including U6 – born in 2016 and later, U7 -born in 2015, U8 -born in 2014, U9- born in 2013, U10 – born 2012, U11& Open- born in 2011 or earlier. The tournament included matches for 6 age groups, was applied chess competition rules issued by the Vietnam Chess Federation. Every player played 7 games, and the player with the highest number of points at the end of the tournament was the winner. The ranking was based on score, direct encounter between groups of players with the same score, Buchholz system, number of games holding black pieces, number of games won by black pieces, if the score was still equal, a draw will be drawn for ranking.
After an exciting afternoon of competition, the Open An Duong Vuong Chess Tournament was a great success. At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded 12 sets of medals, 33 consolation prizes, certificates and souvenirs for the players who achieved excellent results in the competition events.
