On the afternoon of December 1, the press conference of the “Inspirational Golf Training” Program with participation of the world-class golfer LPGA took place paving the way for young Vietnamese golfers to enter into the world of professional golf.

The event of the “Inspirational Golf Training” Program for 20 talented young Vietnamese golfers co-organized by Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and SCG Group bringing two famous Thai sisters – Ariya Jutanugam ( May) and Moriya Jutanugam (Mo) to Vietnam.

The overview of the press conference

This is the first time young Vietnamese golfers have the opportunity to exchange and learn directly from leading golfers of LPGA and be inspired by their spectacular journey to conquer professional golf; Especially Ariya Jutanugarn, who made history as the first ASEAN golfer to be in the number one place in the LPGA rankings in June 2017. The training will take place on the morning of December 2 at the Sky Lake golf course.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. To Van Dong- Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports said: “This is an invaluable opportunity for our golfers to learn and be the key to enter into the world of professional tournament. In the future, Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports will organize more similar activities”.

Mr. To Van also put high expectation on this important event, the visit of the world’s top golfers to Vietnam will be a spiritual boost for the potential golfers in the country.

And today, we are delighted to bring this great inspiration to Vietnam  within the “Inspirational Golf Training” program.

The training will be a spiritual kick for the potential golfers of Vietnam.

During the training sessions, the two Jutanugarn sisters will teach young golfers important skills, especially strong skills. Young golfers will learn from Ariya’s long ball hit technique while Moriya will guide the technique to hit ball into the hole.

 Jutanugarn sisters desire to inspire young Vietnamese golfers

Most importantly, the two Thai sisters will share their tips and experiences as well as practice methods of world-class professional golfers. Ariya and Moriya also show their excitement when visiting Vietnam and wish to share their knowledge and experience for young people.

Ariya and Moriya also expressed their excitement when visiting Vietnam: “This is our first visit to Vietnam and we are very warmly welcomed. We are also delighted to meet the young, potential and enthusiastic Vietnamese golfers. More than anyone, we understand all the difficulties that a golfer must go through to reach the international arena. It’s a journey that requires a lot of motivation and determination. Sports science also plays an important role in preparing athletes for world-class competitive matches. We are very eager to share these experience with young Vietnamese golfers”.
As the leading sponsor for regional sports, SCG has always been associated with football and badminton as these are two popular sports, fit for the physical strength of people in Southeast Asia and able to reach the international level.


After observing the Jutanugarn Sisters playing in some amateur golf tournaments, the group decided to help them show their talents in professional tournaments. And that is the first time SCG has sponsored golf tournament. In 2012, SCG officially announced to sponsor May and Mo when they moved to professional competition, which marks a milestone in the journey to put ASEAN on the world’s golf map.

SCG Group has been active in Vietnam since 1992 and always supported human development through education and sports projects. In the field of sports, SCG has signed the official contract to sponsor Hanoi FC in two seasons, namely 2017 and 2018, as well as cooperate with the capital football club to hold the “Street Football Festival” in Vietnam for the first time.

In addition, the Group also supports world-class training for badminton players in Ho Chi Minh City through the application of sports science. The “Inspirational Golf Training” program is a continuation of the Group’s efforts to improve the quality of life in Vietnam.
