According to Mr. Le Ngoc Thang – the Vice Chairman of the City’s Farmers’ Association, under the guidance of the Central Farmers’ Association Committee, the Steering Committee of the City’s campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” in 2017, Hanoi Farmers’ Association has actively responded, implemented many measures: propagandizing, advocating; concluding with Farmers’ Association of 16 provinces; helping farmers build their brands; hold fairs to introduce safe products; launching the campaign “For a clean environment, for the public health, Hanoi farmers only produce, process and sell safe agricultural products”… The City’s Farmers’ Association has implemented 5 work programs, in which the program no. 05 is to promote the introduction, consumption of products, brands & trademarks building; To closely coordinate with the Department of Science and Technology and the districts and towns in promoting the research and assistance to facilitate farmers to promote the building of brands and trademarks. Up to now, there have been 8 branded products owned by farmers. In particular, the City’s Farmers’ Association has signed and associated with Farmers’ Association in 16 provinces and cities in the regions such as Thai Binh province, Hai Duong province, Hai Phong city, Nam Dinh province… to disseminate information about the Association’s activities and economic development models, products produced in regions and quality products for the purpose of exchanging, introducing and selling products of the provinces to Hanoi, consuming and introducing transfer of technology and technique as well as products of Hanoi to the provinces.

Mr. To Hai Long – the Director of the Farmer Support Center said that the Center was promoting farmers to improve the quality of products by applying scientific and technological advances to production. At the same time, training courses were organized to help farmers build their brands. In particular, the Center has opened 95 training courses on the protection of collective trademark rights, the role of farmer households in building & protecting agricultural product trademarks for more than 1,000 members of farmers; promoting propaganda, the introduction of traditional craft villages and high quality agricultural products, contributing to connecting farmers to consume products; holding trading sessions …; Signing with trade unions of Vietnam to introduce products to trade unions, units and schools. In the coming time, the Center will further promote propaganda and protection of trademarks, as well as the rights and legitimate interests of farmers; developing trademarks to brands; strengthening the association, coordinating with corporates, agencies and mass organizations to help farmers sell products. In order to continue conducting effectively the Campaign, the Farmers’ Association also proposed the City to facilitate the Association to continue holding trade fairs to introduce traditional craft villages and high-quality product, coordinate with the People’s Committees of wards in the area to propagate and bring farmers’ agricultural products for direct introduction; promoting more intensively the products recognized for brand through the program of voting agricultural products to honor and develop; solution to combine with tourism with product introduction …

Mr. Trinh The Khiet – the Chairman of the City’s Farmers’ Association said that when implementing the Campaign, the City’s Farmers’ Association had faced many difficulties such as farmers’ production customs, limited awareness of market products consumption, unprompted and unplanned production… Bringing the campaign to life, the Farmers’ Association has had the sense of initiative, conducted the propaganda briefly, easy to remember, easy to understand, easy to implement focusing on the product farmers need to put into production, products for consumption; propagating for farmers to produce safe products. The Association has also coordinated with other units, agencies of the State, enterprises, scientists, banks to bring science and technology into production of good products; businesses help advise farmers to consume products. Since then, farmers gradually organize good products for consumption in the area, branding with a clear address, origin that connects with consumers, scientists, businesses to make a good new rural building program.

To conclude, Mr. Vu Hong Khanh – the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, Head of the Campaign’s Steering Committee of the City, Head of the investigation team said that in the upcoming time, the Farmers’ Association will continue to propagandize and advocate farmers in the area to improve the quality of goods and consumption of Vietnamese goods, boycott consumption of poor-quality goods and smuggling, unknown origin goods. The propaganda and advocacy activities go deeper and impact on awareness, go deeper into the content proposed by the campaign such as promoting propaganda to support farmers improve scientific and technical knowledge for applying to production in order to improve productivity, products quality, understand safe production without using pesticides not included in the list for a clean environment and health and safety of consumers; strengthen the coordination with the city’s functional agencies to supervise the production and consumption of agricultural products, focus on popularizing typical models of production, circulation and consumption; bring the special products of Hanoi to participate in the voting program “Vietnamese goods loved by consumers”.

Mr. Vu Hong Khanh – the Head of the Steering Committee also asked the City’s Farmers’ Association to coordinate closely with the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade to further strengthen the connection between supply and demand, connect with producers – distributors and consumers; participate in implementing the program of selling Vietnamese goods in districts and towns; trade promotion programs, industrial promotion programs, Viet village trade fairs, branding support programs, consumers’ rights protection programs and Hanoi Promotion Month….; at the same time, fiercely fighting against the production and trade in fake goods and trade frauds.
