Tet’s four panel paintings: pine tree – daisy – ivory bamboo – apricot symbolize four seasons of the year, and also the honour man’s virtue and personality. However, this type of product bearing its soul of national identities is gradually going backward to the past. It is only kept in museums and by the own efforts of some of the rare collectors.
Being the young devotees to Hang Trong type of paiting, keen on the folklore beauties and desirous to conserve the traditional values, S Rriver group has spent many years studying to formulate “Viet colours” project.
Within the framework of the project implementation, the Hang Trong painting exhibition titled “the fresh in the old” is the first event which has been organized in order to help the young get closer to Hang Trong paintings and tap the potential of applying this type of folklore painting into modern life. The exhibition will focus on the three themes: Tet festival, worship rites and mundane life. At the same time, there is another site displaying old designs extracted from Hang Trong paintings.
