The National Press Festival is an annual event to celebrate great events of the year and the country’s achievements in the renovation process. This is an opportunity to exchange and meet between the journalists and the public and also an opportunity to praise great contributions to Vietnamese revolutionary press. The 2019 National Press Festival displayed Xuan publications, typical press publications in 2018 and the first quarter of 2019, forums, seminars, talks and photo exhibitions.
Besides, in order to promote the traditional culture of Hanoi and serve the public to visit the National Press Festival, Hanoi Museum organized many traditional cultural activities of Hanoi such as: Displaying “official names of Vietnam for the periods in the wood-engraving printing plates of the Nguyen Dynasty” to introduce typical documents on official names of Vietnam and help the visitors understand origin and meanings of the official names of Vietnam for the historical periods of the nation.
Along with that, the photo exhibition titled “Hanoi in me” with theme of “Craft villages and streets” had near 100 photos of the Hanoi Elderly Photographers Club. The event is organized by Hanoi Museum through a socialization support source to bring to the public a clear and deeper feeling of Thang Long – Hanoi cultural heritage value.

In addition, within the framework of the Festival, a series of traditional cultural performances took place, visitors can both visit the Festival and have the opportunity to see traditional craft products of the craftsmen of Kim Hoang painting village, Phu Vinh bamboo and rattan village, Bat Trang ceramics village, Van Phuc silk village and Kim Lien barber village; eat Hanoi Pho with the brand “Pho Ngoc Vuong” and Thanh Tri steamed rice rolls and experience some other cuisine cultures of Hanoi such as Phu Nhi rice flour cake and sidewalk iced tea… These activities of Hanoi Museum expect to help the public visit and experience the traditional culture space of Hanoi in the past.
