Activities of cultural & sports exchange and cooperation with domestic and international provinces and cities have been expanded. In 2019, the Department coordinated to organize 210 events (including 28 international events, 09 events of provinces and cities) – an increase of 25% compared to 2018.
The quality and scale of cultural, arts and sports activities continue to be renewed and improved, many of which have left imprints on the people, domestic and international tourists coming to the Capital such as Cherry Blossom Festival 2019; Hanoi Culinary Culture Festival 2019; Street festival; Folklore festivals in contemporary life 2019; Hanoi International Heritage Marathon 2019 has resonated, attracting 7,000 participants, including 1,500 international athletes from 54 countries … Organizing effectively activities to introduce culture and arts and cuisine of Hanoi city during the visit and working session of the National Assembly Chairman in the French Republic; at the Second U.S.-North Korean summit.

The organization serves more than 704,000 readers (up 25.7% compared to 2018), nearly 2,000,000 books, newspapers and magazines at the City Library.
