The contest aims to affirm the role of books, newspapers and libraries in social life, building and spreading reading habits, contributing to the development of reading culture in the community. The contest helps children in the district understand more about the background, life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, and His great contributions to the country and nation, especially Uncle Ho’s love for Vietnamese children, and then, educates the children with pride and respect for Uncle Ho, encourage them to study and strive to follow Uncle Ho’s teachings by specific actions and deeds and contribute to building an elegant and civilized capital.

The contest is organized in 2 levels: Preliminary examination at the ward (from May 30 to June 30, 2021) and Final examination at the district level (July 6, 2021). Through the competition, the district will select the team to participate in the City Finals. Contestants are teenagers and children (primary and junior high school age) in the district.
Each team will have a maximum of 18 minutes to present 3 parts: Introduction of the team, Propaganda to introduce books and Show talent with the corresponding scale of 10 points – 35 points – 5 points.
The prize structure includes Team award, Content award and Movement award. Team prizes include 01 Excellent, 01 First prize, 02 Second prizes, 04 Third prizes. The Movement Prize consists of 3 prizes: The most impressive lineup introduction, the best propaganda and introduction content and the best-gifted performance. The Movement Award is given to a group with excellent achievements in implementing and organizing the local Children’s Reading Movement in 2021.

The District Center for Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism is the standing unit, which shall implement and organize the implementation of Plan No. 117/KH-UBND; take responsibility for professional expertise, guide and urge the People’s Committees of wards to implement the plan on schedule; review the scripts of the teams and approving the content of participating in the contests of the wards; based on the results of the Contest, select and organize for the team to practice and participate in the City Finals. The Office of Education and Training directs schools in the area to propagate, mobilize and create conditions for students to practice and participate in competitions. People’s Committees of wards are responsible for organizing propaganda and mobilizing students to actively practice in contests; organizing a preliminary examination in the ward, establishing a team to participate in the district level competition, also diversifying forms of developing reading culture in the community, especially the following forms: Thematic talk, book introduction, Book Festival… to serve the contest well…
