To ensure the health and safety of children before the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival, Cau Giay district did not organize cultural and artistic activities, Mid-Autumn Festivals as annual. However, with the desire that all children can enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Youth Union – Associations – Teams at all levels in Cau Giay district have chosen fun activities for the Mid-Autumn Festival under the actual conditions but still preserving traditional cultural values: Deploying activities of visiting and giving presents to children in difficult circumstances and suffering from dangerous diseases in the locality; Donating learning materials. Especially, strictly implementing the regulations on pandemic prevention and control, the Youth Union – Associations – Teams from the district to the grassroots has had the initiative to organize many activities in the form of online: Launching a lantern-making contest, star-shaped lights, tray presentation contest, moon cake making contest, drawing contest to raise funds to support poor children, launching the donation “Computer for children”; organizing the “Mid-Autumn Festival” program for junior union members and young people to follow online form on social networking platforms.

The visit and present-giving activities have been flexibly deployed by the Standing Committee of the District Youth Union – the Standing Committee of the District Team Council in accordance with the pandemic situation. Organized 02 visits, sent and awarded 160 “Mid-Autumn Festival” presents to children with special circumstances, orphans, and disabled children. At the same time, cared about young people suffering from serious diseases, children from disadvantaged families who are children of former comrades and members of the Union – Association in Cau Giay district. On this occasion, the Youth Union – Associations – Teams from the district to the grassroots gave 612 presents, 16 electronic devices for online learning for children with a total value of nearly VND 350,000,000.
Although it was not possible to organize collective activities, the efforts and creativity of the Youth Union – Associations – Teams from the district to the grassroots of Cau Giay district helped the children have fun on their day. Thereby, showing concern and care for the young generation and at the same time creating encouragement for them to excel in learning and training in the situation that the whole city is preventing and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic.
