As every year, the exhibition of “Hanoi in me in 2021” still closely follows the pulse of the capital with vivid images, capturing true views of Hanoi’s memorable milestones in a special period, difficult but also proud of the achievements. There is the drastic participation of the leaders of the Central, the City and officials of the districts, wards and communes, the consensus of the people and businesses, or the hard work to maintain production development activities, and learning… when the Covid-19 pandemic appeared and affected the lives of the people of the Capital.

With nearly 90 works, the exhibition is divided into 3 parts: “Fighting the pandemic is like fighting the enemy”, “Hanoi – Days of social distancing”, and “Love of Hanoi people”.

In Part 1, the spirit of “Fighting the pandemic is like fighting the enemy” has been deeply grasped by Hanoi in the whole political system from the city to the grassroots. During the hottest time of the Covid-19 pandemic, the city’s key leaders have continuously come down to inspect and closely direct the pandemic prevention and control work in each hot spot, “pandemic center”, promptly encourage and share with people. In particular, Hanoi also received the close attention and direction of the leaders of the Party and State with many timely meetings, inspections and direction.

Part 2 of “Hanoi – Days of social distancing” helps readers have a more realistic view of the capital through the days of implementing Directive No. 16 of the Government. The street was empty of people, Hanoians struggled against the attacks of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, leaving all the difficulties behind, the exams were still held safely, production labor is still maintained… in new conditions. Then the impression that remains in Hanoi during the days of social distancing is the extraordinary beauty waiting for Hanoi to shine tomorrow.

Despite social distancing, “Love of Hanoi people” is always close and passionate, despite the dangers and hardships, the elegant and civilized beauty of Hanoi people still shines. That is shown through activities during the pandemic season such as: Supermarket with 0 dong, giving gifts to support difficult circumstances, free meals, support for other localities to fight the pandemic… The important thing behind these photos is the love of Hanoians.

2021 is the 16th year of the “Hanoi in me” photo exhibition being held. Different from previous exhibitions, Hanoi from the perspective and emotions of the photographers this year is less volatile than the photos in the previous “Hanoi in me” exhibition, such as: “Craft village – craft street” “, “Friendly and creative Hanoi”, “The imprint of architectural heritage” which focuses on the colorful picture of Hanoi in the days of implementing social distancing because of the Covid-19 pandemic. It can be said that the exhibition is the place to gather the most beautiful and quality works of the members of the Hanoi Elderly Photography Club and the reporters and close collaborators of the Economic & Urban newspaper recording the special moment of Hanoi in the days of social distancing that is the moment “Hanoi – Unforgettable days”.
