The contest is open to all citizens over 18 years of age with Vietnamese nationality who are currently living, studying and working in Hanoi; authors and groups of professional and amateur authors; collaborators of the Center for Culture – Information and Sports of districts, towns; Member of the Photography Club of the City Cultural Center.

The content of the works submitted to the contest demonstrates the theme and highlights the typical values of Hanoi’s culture, has a clear message, a new and unique perspective on Hanoi Capital – The city of “Culture – Civilized – Modern” in tradition, integration, and development with a long history; beautiful nature; heroic people in combat, intellectual industriousness in productive labor, elegance in communication and behavior. The author’s impressive perspectives on historical sites, festivals, culture, architecture, art, and scenic spots; express the identity of the community, lifestyle, transfer, and inheritance of culture through generations; cuisine; traditional folk costumes…

The composition, lighting, and aesthetic quality of the works are excellent, and the photography and language are both well-developed. The works in a photo series must be cohesive and consistent with one another. The works must have artistic value and significance, and the content must adhere to the Party’s guidelines, policies, and laws of the State, ensure cultural standards and respect the fine customs and traditions of Vietnam, which are widely practiced, contribute to raising awareness and orientation in maintaining the nation’s good traditions and cultural identity in general, and Hanoi in particular, without violating copyright, and follow the contest rules. The photos are honest and objective, closely linked, showing a specific story that is suitable for the topic, content, and requirements of the Contest.

The works will be presented in the form of single and set photos. For single photo: 1 to 10 photos per the author. For a set of photos: Each set of photos is considered a work, consisting of from 5 to 10 photos, the author must number them in sequence. Each work (single photo, set photo) must be accompanied by a caption on the subject and a description of the work’s content (no more than 200 words).

The contest launch time is in September, October, 2022 at the City Cultural Center (No. 7 Phung Hung, Ha Dong District, Hanoi City). The time to receive the works is from the date of issuance of the Plan (September 26, 2022) to November 15, 2022, by email: tochucsukienttvh@gmail.com or by post to the City Cultural Center Street (No. 7 Phung Hung, Ha Dong District, Hanoi City). The selection and evaluation of works was carried out in November 2022. Announcement of awards and exhibition of winning works will be held in December 2022.

The Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has assigned the City Cultural Center to implement the Plan, and coordinate with relevant units to well organize the Contest. Request that the People’s Committees of districts and towns direct the Culture – Information Department, Culture – Information and Sports Center, and relevant local units to launch and respond to the Contest, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere to celebrate the 68th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation Day and the 50th anniversary of the Victory “Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air.”
