In celebrating the 77th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2022) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2022), the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports organized the Brilliant Vietnam Exhibition at the Exhibition Hall at No. 93 Dinh Tien Hoang, Hoan Kiem District.
More than 150 photos about the glorious and heroic history of Vietnam over the past 7 decades, from the day of its independence through its construction to be a country of strong development, were selected and displayed. They mainly focus on glorious historical milestones; great achievements of great significance in the cause of national construction and defense; building the capital to become richer and more beautiful and civilized.
77 years ago, in the historic autumn days, under leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, our people made the great August Revolution. On September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi, on behalf of the Provisional Government, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, solemnly declaring to the nation, compatriots and the whole world: “Vietnam has the right to be a free and independent country-and in fact is so already”, which gave birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the first people’s democratic state in Southeast Asia, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This important event is a brilliant milestone in our glorious history of national building and defense. The successful August Revolution that led to the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was a great victory of our people, smashing the yoke of domination, oppression and exploitation of the colonial and feudal regimes, and empowered authority to the people. Our country has changed from a colonial, semi-feudal country to an independent and free one. Our people, from slaves, became masters of the country, society, their own destiny. Our country, our people entered a new era, the era of national independence and socialism.
Over the past 77 years, in fulfilling the sacred oath at the Declaration of Independence Ceremony “the entire Vietnamese people are determined to mobilize all their physical and mental strength, to sacrifice their lives and property in order to safeguard their independence and liberty”, our people have paid so much effort, intelligence, and sacrifice to maintain those achievements and realize the noble goals of the August Revolution: Independence for the Fatherland, freedom and happiness for the people. The national synergy has increased, creating a new position and force for our country to further develop with good prospects. The great victory and achievements of our people in the past 77 years have been admired and appreciated by the world and international friends, becoming a valuable preparation of our nation in promoting industrialization, modernization and international integration.
With an impressive and beautiful arrangement and display of books and photos, the exhibition will help viewers have a deeper awareness of the great historical significance, stature and lessons of the August Revolution; be more and more proud of the great achievements and glorious victories of our people during the past 77 years under the leadership of our Party and the great President Ho Chi Minh, proud of our heroic country and people, thereby seeing our responsibility in our national construction and defense in the new period.
The exhibition will take place from August 25 to September 5, 2022.
