Among those fields, humanitarian and charity work has been paid attention to, as well as attracted the active participation of agencies, units, businesses and people in the area.
“Humanitarian Month” in 2022 with the theme: “Community cohesion – Spreading kindness “
Implementing Official Dispatch No. 27-CV/TU dated December 2, 2020 of the Standing Board of the Hanoi Party Committee on leading and directing the official implementation of the “Humanitarian Month” in the annual May; Official Dispatch No. 922-CV/QU dated April 20, 2022 of the Standing Board of Hai Ba Trung District Party Committee on the implementation of “Humanitarian Month” in 2022 with the theme: “Community cohesion – Spreading kindness “, celebrate the International Day of the Red Cross and Red Crescent May 8 and the 132nd Anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s Birthday – the first Honorary President of the Vietnam Red Cross. The Red Cross Society of Hai Ba Trung District has developed a plan and implemented many activities for members in the District from May 1 to May 31. The peak is from May 8 to May 19, 2022.

Hai Ba Trung District has set a goal for “Humanitarian Month” in 2022 to support at least 2,000 people who are in a particularly difficult situation with the appropriate form and level of assistance; organize a blood donation day in Hai Ba Trung district to reach 1000 units of safe blood; support to repair 6 humanitarian works worth at least 20 million VND/ a humanitarian work; provided free counseling and medicine to 400 people in need, 4 training classes on first aid and accident prevention for young people. Simultaneously with these activities, at least 100 humanitarian addresses will be introduced and connected through the iNHANDAO at least 20 addresses. (The iNHANDAO system with the website nhandao.itrithuc.vn will connect people in need with charities. It will provide charities with complete and accurate information about cases in need of help. The iNHANDAO also reasonably and transparently allocate supports resources to people in need according to their needs).
Promoting this compassionate tradition, agencies, units, businesses and people have actively participated in the “Humanity Month” in 2022. Results: The district has supported 2,852 times of needy people with the amount of 1,299,800 VND; organized many voluntary blood donation days in the district and collected 1,131 safe blood units; support to repair 6 humanitarian works with the value of 160 million VND; free counseling and medicine distribution to 500 needy people; organized 8 training courses on first aid and accident prevention which attracted 960 young people in the wards of Hai Ba Trung District to participate; 110 humanitarian addresses were introduced and connected through the iNHANDAO system, 22 addresses. In addition, the Red Cross Society of Hai Ba Trung District also cooperated with the twinning unit for more than 20 years, the Red Cross Society of Ngo Quyen District (Hai Phong City) to organize a humanitarian market and give 400 gifts (about 250 million VND). Charity activities have been evaluated as excellently completed and exceeded the targets assigned by the City Red Cross.
Practical activities of “Humanitarian Month” implemented by the Red Cross Society of Hai Ba Trung district have contributed to raising social awareness, arousing and spreading the spirit of kindness. The activities have been interested by all levels of the party, government, organizations and the whole society. Through that, the activities have a spillover effect and contribute to building a united, benevolent community that well implements local social security issues./.
