For the kid age, books have become a tool of significant importance, having positive impacts on development of the their thinking and personality. In order to completely fulfil the function of catering good services to kid readership, so far Ha Noi Library has unceasingly modernized its facilities and equipments, enhancing the quality products and services, at the same time combining many activity forms, thus having been able to woo a large number of kid readers to the Library.
In June 2013, Ha Noi Library split the Kid Service Division into an independent which covers an area of over 200m2 and is equipped with 300 seats, applied software installed computers so as to betterly satisfy the demand for study, research and entertainment of the children. Up to now, Ha Noi library possesses a store of Vietnamese language materials of nearly 130,000 pieces, 12 newspapers and magazines, 2000 English books, some 300 Japanese books which are of rich contents, high printing quality, nice forms, many illustrative pictures siutable to children’s age..
Ha Noi library has combined various forms of activities with a view to attracting as many as possible the kid readership to come as well as gaining access to books to maintain and develop the reading culture. In terms of books publicity, Ha Noi library has stressed great importance to introduce to the kids the excellent literature works of Viet Nam and the world, and books written on the Capital as well as traditional patriotism for the homeland and country. … Ha Noi library has together teamed with the schools: Secondary schools of Trung Vuong, Nguyen Du, Ngo Sy Lien,.. to organize exchanges on writers and works with poet Tran Dang Khoa, writer Nguyen Nhat anh, writer Le Phuong Lien,.. which have manged to attract the attendance of hundreds of readers. .
In order to for a reading habit to be developed and adopted among children, the Kid Service Division has set up a reading model named “The Mom and Kid corner”, with an aim of creating a private space for the mom reading books with her kid. This reading corner is meant for the kindergarten age readers which is arranged with differrent kinds of books, stories in colourful, lively illustrated displays. The model has drawn a great deal of parents’ attention and taken their children to the library for book reading at weekend. Besides, Ha Noi library has also held orientation activities: Picture colouring and drawing, folk game playing, puzzle game, chess, sea hóe game. Film show and brief film extract in the programme titled “Life’s gifts” has helped them be inspired with more pleasure and enthusiasm to visit the library.

With the hope that the Capital’s children will become useful and knowlegible citizens, Ha Noi library has held many playgrounds and a reading cultured space in response of “the actions month for children”, “Viet Nam Books’ Day” … Particularly, the contest on “Write about a your loving book” has attracted lots of readers’s participation. Every year, in summertime, Ha Noi library usually has to lengthen the time schedules to serve kid readers.

Inheritting and bringing into a full play of the outcomes achieved by the predecessors,coupled with the efforts spent by the librarians in general and those working at the Kid Service Division in particular, Ha Noi library is really a cultural learning and educational venue for kids in the Capital.
