Over the years, Residential group 21 has become an example of Yen Hoa ward, Cau Giay district with regard to building cultural life at the grassroots. In promoting the spirit of solidarity and responsibility, officials and residents here have jointly created and maintained the green, clean, and beautiful landscape and a kind and compassionate lifestyle.

Residential group 21 makes a great impression on visitors with its green, clean, and beautiful landscape and fresh environment. Looking at the “green corners”, the streets adorned with green trees and colorful flowers, no one thinks that there used to be many garbage sites and unauthorized classified ads that adversely affected the urban environment and beauty. Since 2018, with the determination to “create a new face” for the residential group, the Women’s Union of the residential group has extensively implemented the “Green, clean, and beautiful environment” movement with many specific and practical models such as: “Eco-friendly product from waste paper”, “Recycling garbage and growing trees to protect the environment” and “Green corners”, and so on, attracting the participation of a large number of officials and members. In particular, the Women’s Union has chosen alley 115 on Nguyen Khang Street to build “Poinsettias flower alley”. Up to now, alley 115 has become the highlight of the residential group with its impressive space, filled with the red color of poinsettia flowers.

Thanks to the positive effect of this movement, households living in alley 99 on Nguyen Khang street have also turned their alley into a beautiful lantana flower alley. Other alleys on Nguyen Khang Street have been decorated with lanterns. Notably, the cost of buying flowers and lanterns is voluntarily contributed by the residents. The flower alleys and lantern alleys not only beautify the urban landscape but also make positive changes, contributing to raising the awareness of maintaining environmental hygiene, creating a clean and beautiful landscape, and a civilized and eco-friendly living space among officials, women’s members, and residents. Besides, the Women’s Union of the residential group has also implemented propaganda on limiting the use of plastic bags to reduce environmental pollution. Realizing the significance of this action, many women have changed their habits by using plastic boxes instead of plastic bags when going to the market.

In addition, people of residential group 21 always preserve and promote a kind and compassionate lifestyle. To help difficult people, for many years, the residential group has established and effectively operated the “Compassion Club”. This is a place for organizing residential groups’ charity activities to support people in need. Each year, the club raises about VND 60 million. The Club used the fund to repair a house for a household in the ward, support the Vaccine Fund for COVID-19 prevention and control, give warm clothes to children in some mountainous provinces, and donate necessities to make porridge for patients at K Hospital, and so on. Especially, at the time of the fourth outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in Hanoi, the residential group and the “Compassion Club” raised and donated nearly 200 gifts in cash and in-kind to support students and workers in the area.

With the efforts of officials and people, residential group 21 is always at the forefront of the emulation movements of Yen Hoa ward. For many consecutive years, residential group 21 has been voted as an excellent and typical cultural residential group, making many practical contributions to building cultural life at the grassroots, and building Yen Hoa ward to be richer and more beautiful and civilized.
