Women in Yen My commune, Thanh Tri district attend an online conference.

Also at the conference, MA. Hoa Huu Van, Member of the Advisory Group on Gender Equality, Family and Children of the Vietnam Women’s Union, former Deputy Director of the Family Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has provided facts and secrets to resolve conflicts, build and maintain family happiness.

Mr. Hoa Huu Van said that, in the 4.0 era, life is bustling with opportunities to make a living, children rush into the race to learn and equip themselves with everything to promptly develop and have many opportunities for themselves. The pace of life becomes as busy as the wheel of a machine that cannot slow down and stop. Family members rarely communicate directly with each other, loving moments in the family which are deprived.

“According to statistics, 62% of parents in the North and 57.7% of parents in the South spend up to 30 minutes a day to chat or entertain with their children. This shows that the family connection is increasingly loose. Therefore, members need to balance work and relationships to spend time with family, thereby connecting and sharing,” said Master Hoa Huu Van.

According to Mr. Hoa Huu Van, from 2017 to 2020, on average, Vietnam has 600,000 divorce cases each year. More than 40% of the causes of conflicts between husband and wife are due to “trifles” things. “Happiness is eroded by “nothing considerable” things happening every day. Many people think that relatives are easy to tolerate, easy to do, so it is easy to “forget” how to choose words, how to behave delicately and properly… To resolve conflicts, couples need to know organizational skills, division of labor, know how to give compliments to the opponent at the right time. Equality is one of the important factors to maintain family happiness, helping members bond with each other through common daily tasks in the family. When a conflict occurs, put it in the position of the other person to understand and share, thereby resolving the conflict.
