In order to effectively score the beautiful buildings throughout the city, Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports has asked the People’s Committee of districts to inspect and propose the beautiful buildings with lighting decoration in the city on the occasion of Lunar New Year holiday. Based on the proposals of the districts and through the examination and evaluation to select beautifully decorated buildings for scoring, on the evening of February 28, 2018, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports organized the mission to carry out the actual inspection and assessment of buildings with specific criteria meeting the given requirements of create the highlights of the urban landscape combined with honoring and promoting the typical values of Hanoi thousand years of civilization, Heroic Capital, City for Peace; and the diverse decorative forms, contributing to creating the cheerful and exciting atmosphere in the Lunar New Year of 2018.

With the hard-working spirit and ensuring accuracy in accordance with the criteria and guidelines of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Artistic Council of the Department with the participation of Painter Tran Khanh Chuong, President of Vietnam Fine Arts Association; People’s Artist Tran Quoc Chiem, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Information; Head of Art Management Division of the Department; the Director of the Exhibition – Information Center and representative of the Propaganda and Training Commission of City Party Commitee conducted the inspection and evaluation of each building. Based on the results of the examination and comments from the Artistic Council, the members agreed upon the proposal for the buildings to be rewarded by the City People’s Committee and Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.

According to panter Tran Khanh Chuong, President of Vietnam Fine Arts Association, Lighting work this year has many innovations. For buildings, the form of decoration is also very diverse and suitable with the architecture of each building. For villas, the decoration highlights the architecture of the ancient houses. With high-rise buildings, some are highlighted regarding their own height with spotlight at their bases, some . However, the President of Vietnam Fine Arts Association also noted that the decoration should use harmonic and elegant lighting effects, and limit the fast-moving ones at the crossroads and intersections, affecting the visibility of traffic participants. In addition to the holidays and anniversaries, the buildings should be also decorated regularly to create the beautiful and civilized appearance for Hanoi capital.
People’s Artist Tran Quoc Chiem highly appreciated the contribution of companies and businesses in decorating the buildings to highlight the appearance of Hanoi capital on the occasion of coming spring. The artist emphasized that the beautifully decorated buildings should be maintained and regularly renovated to make the impression on the people and visitors in Hanoi. In addition, it is necessary to continue to mobilize and encourage groups, agencies, enterprises, units and individuals, depending on the actual conditions, to further promote the decoration of buildings, agencies, companies and households in holidays, Tet and significant anniversaries of the country and Capital.
Ms. Do Kim Oanh, Director of the Hanoi Exhibition – Information Center, scoring the decoration and propaganda in the city under the assignment of the Department, acquired the comments of Artistic Council to synthesize and report to the Department leaders on proposing City People’s Committee to reward the beautiful decorated buildings in the city. It is expected that the final review, reward and evaluation for the lighting decoration of buildings will be carried out in March 2018.
