The ceremony of handing over and receiving donated artifacts at President Ho Chi Minh’s house in December 1946 in Van Phuc, Ha Dong

The relic of President Ho Chi Minh’s house who lived and worked in December 1946 in Van Phuc, Ha Dong is one of 14 sites in the system of museums and monuments commemorating President Ho Chi Minh. This is the address associated with the event that President Ho Chi Minh lived, worked and wrote the Call for the National Resistance – Calling on the entire Vietnamese nation to stand up to repel the French colonialists invading, opening the long-term resistance war of our nation. The relic was ranked at the national level in 1975 and is now directly managed by the Management Board of Hanoi Monuments and Landscapes.

Mr. Do Dinh Hong – Member of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, and Mrs. Pham Thi Hoa, Standing Member of the District Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Ha Dong District awarded the certificate Commendation to collectives and individuals who have contributed in collecting and donating artifacts

Artifacts donated by the People’s Committee of Van Phuc ward to the relic include the traditional loom of Van Phuc silk village and the silk product display cabinet by Mr. Nguyen Van Duong’s family. These are typical artifacts, maintained and preserved by officials and people of Van Phuc ward over the years. These artifacts will be added to the exhibition of the “silk weaving space” relic, towards the 75th anniversary of the National Resistance War (19/12/1946-19/12/2021).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Do Dinh Hong – Member of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports highly appreciated the contributions of the People’s Committee of Ha Dong District, the People’s Committee of Van Phuc ward, Van Phuc silk weaving village association, seniors in the management board of relics of Van Phuc ward. The artifacts donated to the relic dominate historical, scientific and educational value, helping visitors better understand the cultural traditions and history of silk weaving in Van Phuc, Ha Dong.

On October 4, 2021, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Document No. 3639/BVHTTDL-DSVH on the preparation of documents to upgrade national monuments President Ho Chi Minh’s house where he lived and worked in December 1946 in Van Phuc, Ha Dong, a special national monument to match the status of this relic. The City Department of Culture and Sports has assigned the Management Board of Hanoi Monuments and Landscapes to assume the prime responsibility for advising and making a report to the City People’s Committee, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to submit to the Prime Minister in accordance with regulations of the Government according to the provisions of the law on cultural heritage. The addition of valuable artifacts will contribute to proving the special value of the monument.
