In the morning of July 7, at the meeting hall of the building of the town’s People’s Committee, the Center for Culture, Information and Sports, the Office of Education and Training, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union branch of the town jointly organized the Children’s Book Presenting Contest of summer 2017 with the participation of Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, Deputy Standing Secretary of the Town Party Committee.

With the theme “Children of the capital city with the attitude of showing gratitude to people with merits”, the contest attracted the participation of over 300 child contestants from 9 communes and wards, namely Co Dong, Kim Son, Son Dong, Duong Lam, Ngo Quyen, Le Loi, Vien Son, Son Loc, and Trung Son Tram. Each team underwent three parts of the contest, including greetings, book presenting, and talents. By presenting “Our Uncle Ho”, “General Vo Nguyen Giap”, “The legend of 10 Dong Loc heroes”, “Severe childhood”, “Dang Thuy Tram Diary”, and several others, the youth learned to cherish historical values, nurture patriotism, preserve national pride, honor heroic martyrs and wounded soldiers who sacrificed their blood and lives for the independence and freedom of the fatherland, and try their best to study and cultivate virtue to justify the sacrifice of the preceding generations.

At the end of the contest, the organizers awarded an excellence prize to the team of Le Loi Ward, a first prize to the team of Son Dong Commune, second prizes to the teams of Kim Son Commune and Co Dong Commune, and third prizes to the remaining teams.
