The People’s Committee of My Duc district has organized a program to encourage people to protect the environment together at the national site of Huong pagoda, featuring the activities hosted by Miss Vietnam 2016 Do My Linh to collect waste in Yen Stream and other volunteer activities.
As soon as arriving at Huong pagoda, Miss Vietnam 2016 Do My Linh, together with youth union members and local people of Huong Son commune, and visitors, had collected waste and cleaned up the wharves and Yen stream.
Through the activity of waste collection, Miss Do My Linh desires that young people, tourists and local people in Huong Son commune are always aware of protecting the environment and keeping this special national site always clean. According to her, environmental protection also helps attract more international tourists, who like to blend themselves into the natural landscape.
Huong Pagoda Festival 2018 opens on February 21, 2018 (January 6, according to lunar calendar). Up to now, after more than a month, the Organizing Committee of Huong Pagoda has welcomed 1.1 million tourists. Despite the large number of visitors, the site always remains green, clean and beautiful. Nevertheless, on coming weekends or holidays, there will be so many tourists coming to this land of Buddha, it is very necessary for every people to protect the environment and landscape.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hau, the Vice Chairman of People’s Committee of My Duc district, the Head of Organizing Committee of Huong Pagoda Festival 2018 said that the environmental protection has made positive progress, and people’s awareness of environmental protection while attending the festival have also been raised.
Anyway, the propaganda campaign of environmental protection must be carried out regularly so as to keep Huong pagoda site always clean and beautiful. This environmental protection program attended by Miss Do My Linh is one of the series activities held by the People’s Committee of My Duc district to enhance people’s awareness of protecting environment and Huong pagoda special national site.
* In the afternoon of the same day, together with waste collection on Yen stream, Miss Do My Linh and youth union members from Huong Son commune had also joined visitors in offering incense at Thien Tru Temple, attending photo exhibition “Ancient and present Huong Pagoda”. Also on this occasion, Miss Do My Linh donated gifts to 30 poor families in Huong Son commune.
