To celebrate 81 years of the Vietnamese Traditional Day of the Elderly (June 6, 1941 – June 6, 2022), on June 1, 2022, the Representative Board of the Elderly Association and the Center for Culture, Information and Sports of Thanh Tri District organized the District Elderly Singing Festival in 2022.

There were 15 units of communes and towns, comprising more than 250 amateur actors of old age participating in the festival. The actors brought to the festival 15 performances praising the Party, Uncle Ho, the love for the country, the construction of a new countryside, etc. The performances were staged carefully, elaborately, and creatively and were expressed through many rich and diverse art forms such as dancing, group singing, choir, bringing the audience many good emotions. All of the performances were warmly received by the audience.

At the end of the festival, the Organizing Board awarded a special prize to Huu Hoa commune; Prize A for Thanh Liet and Ngu Hiep communes and 6 B-prizes and 6 Consolation prizes for the performances.
The Thanh Tri District Elderly Singing Festival 2022 is one of the healthy cultural activities with practical significance, in order to give elderly members moments of relaxation and improve their spiritual lives so that they can live a happy, healthy, and useful life and be a good example for children to learn and follow. Thank to the festival, the role and belief of the elderly in the leadership of the Party and State, as well as the elderly’s affection for their homeland and country in the new period are one more time affirmed./.
