The exhibition shows 26 works in the collection of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum composed by many domestic and foreign authors. Through the works, image of President Ho Chi Minh is portrayed truthfully and vividly by various types of art such as ainting, graphics, sketch, poster, using a variety of materials such as oil paint, lacquer, wood carving, pigment, water color, printing, etc.

The image of Uncle Ho, the leader who spent all his life for the cause of national independence and national unification, in his childhood “Coong starts learning” (Pigment by Van Giao), in the years when he left Vietnam to find ways to save the country “Uncle Ho is reading thesis” (Poster by Nguyen Minh Thong), and at the great event “Uncle Ho is reading the Declaration of Independence” (Pigment by Nguyen Duong) on ​​September 2, 1945 is shown honestly and vividly by the artists. In addition, the image of Uncle Ho leading the revolutionary lines appears in the works:  “Uncle Ho in Viet Bac war zone” (Lacquer by Duong Bich Lien), “Uncle Ho on a business trip” (Silk by Nguyen Thu), “Uncle Ho stays awake tonight” (Wood carving by Nguyen Nghia Duyen). The works such as “Uncle Ho’s stilt house at the Presidential Palace” (Oil painting by Luong Xuan Nhi), “Uncle Ho’s house in Kim Lien – Nghe An” (Watercolor by Tran Van Can) and so on, clearly reflect the simple and pure lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh.

Uncle Ho’s care and love for all classes of people, from soldiers in the field to peasants, children and teenagers are portrayed vividly in the works: “Uncle Ho is visiting Ho Tay artillery” (Oil painting by Nguyen Cao Thuong), “Uncle Ho in the Central Highlands” (Pigment by Xu Man), “Uncle Ho is visiting a primary class” (Oil painting by Do Huu Hue). He always upholds the spirit of national solidarity, follows and accompanies the nation on the historical journeys, as expressed in the work “Uncle Ho is still with us” (Poster by Nguyen Thu – Huy Oanh). Uncle Ho’s ideology and morality have always been an example for the next generations.

In particular, not only Vietnamese artists successful express their feeling and emotion towards Uncle Ho, but also some foreign authors such as David Thomas (USA), Lee Sang Phill (Korea) show their great respect to President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese hero of national liberation and a great man of culture.

To show the feelings towards Uncle Ho, the Organizing Committee wishes these selected works make a special impression and emotion on the public. Remembering our beloved Uncle Ho, we should uphold the spirit of great national solidarity, overcome any difficulties in modern life, because Uncle Ho is always “still with us”.
