Early in the morning, the procession to celebrate the Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da victory was celebrated. The procession (King Quang Trung and Queen Ngoc Han) moved from the Khuong Thuong temple to Dong Da mound in the forest of flags, parasol, palanquin … and gongs and drums. The sacrifice and incensing rituals took place solemnly from 8 o’clock.

After the ceremony of offering incense and saluting flags, Dong Da District People’s Committee’s Chairman Vo Nguyen Phong delivered a speech of celebrating the Ngoc Hoi-Dong Da victory, reminding the history in 229 years ago, the Lunal New year 1789, the Tayson insurgent army under the creative and talented command of Emperor Quang Trung – Nguyen Hue speeded and smashed more than 20 thousand of Manchu troops, liberated the Thang Long capital, regained independence and freedom, wrote the epic of the nation; thereby affirming the spirit of solidarity, courage and willpower in the great history of struggling to build and maintain the nation..
Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da Victory Festival in 2018 consists of two parts: ceremony and entertainment. From 6:00 to 8:30, the ceremony part took place with the rituals of procession, incensing and sacrifice….The entertainment part took place with art performances by the Vietnam National Tuong Theatre artists including drum dance, performance of the scene of smashing Qing army by King Quang Trung. Dong Da Festival also features a special dragon dance by artists of Trung Liet and Quang Trung Wards – as an indispensable part in each year, in order to remember the victory of Khuong Thuong Post with the fire dragons of Tay Son army. Ngoc Hoi – Dong Da Victory Festival lasts until 16:00PM with many other art performance activities such as singing folk songs, cheo signing, chau van singing (performed by Hanoi artists), Dance of Four Magical Animals, dance of folding Fans, chess and human chess competition, folk games, etc.
